I hate 4WD's. We have a 2001 turbo diesel Jackaroo on loan for four months at the moment. It is slow to go, it is slow around corners and driving in a straight line there is about 5-10 degrees of free play either side of centre in the steering.
I really have little interest in driving off road (well never enough to want to buy a 4WD of my own) and the subaru pulled a big enough trailer for anything I ever needed to tow.
The only benefit I see to sitting up so high is being able to perve at chicks in cars.
I don't feel safer in it because the Subaru turned and stopped a whole lot better.
It fills the garage with stinky diesel fumes.
I can't see past them when I'm riding my motorbike. Most of the ones I see are cleaner than my motorbike.
I for one will be chuckling at all the people struggling to keep the fuel up to these (and other large cars) over the next few years when my wife and I are puttering around in our little Jazz we intend to buy and I zip past on my daily ridden motorbike.
But hey, that's my choice and situation :D

Especially if low cut tops are involved
