Sean's car was imported from Papau New Guinea!

Not sure if they brought any into the country from the factory, according to the man himself there is only three in the country - IIRC.

Too bad... If you guys had said something about 6 months ago about the RX4 and the 260C coupe (albeit mine was an early 240C 2 door). The RX4 i had was a 4 door though, and stock as a rock. Sold both as wrecks. No one really seemed interested when I advertised them in the paper...

I used to see a few. Not in Kingswood numbers of course, but their presence was noticed. And remember there was a lot more margin on a 240C than a Datsun 1200 too. 240/260Cs were a direct Crown competitor here as in Japan. There were basic mid level and high end versions marketed here at various times, depending on what the stupid local importers decided (by dartboard) to try out. The Crown Customs were column shift/bench seat jobs for example.

The Monaros were nice, but the Chyslers were with the exception of the VG hardtops ill proportioned. Don't ever mention Bangle in the same breath as Toyota's baroque gem. :D

I saw one a week ago at a trimmers in one of the northern 'burbs of Hobart, a red one...So that makes at least two. Wonder where the other is...
I'll see if the crown wagon is parked up the road, if it is I'll get a pic, its, um, "interestingly" styled.

As to the 260C wagons and coupe, I forgot to mention not only did I see one of each, but in fact both on the same day in the same country town. One is parked at a stonemason's in Ballarat, the other was parked outside a sand/soil/gravel place on the other side of the town.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe, and from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip-malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moments lost in time; gone like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die.

I remember there being at least 3 or so MS75s in Melbourne. I have no idea what happened to them.

I am aware of about 5 nationwide in various states of (dis)repair so I'd reckon the number is around 10 but probably not more than 10.

As for the 50 series hardtops, I am aware of 8 on the eastern seaboard but I'm not sure where 2 of them are now.

There are probably at least 10 of the later type hardtops in Oz. One guy has 3 I believe.

Do grab a pic of that wagon if you can.

Ah, yes. I forgot about him.....better make that low teens now.

I think these wagons are rather rare. I wrecked one of these, I sat in one with a SBC in it and I know of only 3 others, including this pictured one.

I saw a wagon that exact same colour in Sydney about 15 years ago, except this one was immaculate.

                  What's a SBC?

                    SBC = small block Chev

The one I wrecked was the same blue color - wrecked in 1991 and I have no idea where it came from. Its twin SUs sit on my garage shelf. The one with the Chev still exists (without the Chev) but it is slowly rusting away in north western Victoria.

The one pictured is in Sydney but was bought from a guy with 2 others in Brisbane. It could be that this blue one was purchased from sydney, went up to Brissy and has now made its way back down.

I won't bore all with pics of the 1966 Crown wagon I drive everyday.

Only the 20/30, 40 and 50 series had utes in their model line up.

Gianttomato, thats the one. I went past where its normally parked but it wasn't there, I suspect maybe its a weekend thing.
It may have full chrome bumpers, not the painted ones - later model right?
Its a metallic blue/aqua, similar to the one you posted.

Interesting, one in Melbourne is that color and had a Holden Red in it. I believe the owner was planning on swapping it out for a 2M with twin SUs.
