wow good choice on the engine and box. with a few mods the auto subaru boxes seem to hold up quite well and that should be even better without having to worry about driving the rear wheels..

but i cant help thinking along the lines of the other guys, 4WD would be totally amazing...

personally i would avoid the drivetrain loss and go for a transverse engine, probably a GTiR SR20 and slap an auto box on that. cheaper to upgrade everything too.

            good luck all the same!

I've spent the last year planning this and have considered all types of drivetrain. The thing that brought me to Ej and auto was:

              1) Equal length driveshafts (Possibly the most important thing)

              2) Strong auto

              3) Weight distribution (When you have a VERY light car this is VITAL)

              4) Aftermarket parts

              5) Parts availability

              6) Information availability ie forums, text, powerful examples already racing...

              7) Fitment into chassis

              Ej came out on top....

EJ20 hey, should give TRP a call (say Jon sent ya), They ran 8.9 @ 120mph today, backed off a little so there all over that subaru shit (and how to setup the automatics)

Sounds like a bit of a weapon, i'm looking for around 500hp in a 900kg car and i thought i was crazy

oh and on another note i saw your old car out and about a few times in the past week, looks like its going pretty well now.... here are some pics i found

I'm actually a member there, being a locally based SEQ forum i actually know quite a few of the members there already.

There actually not a bad bunch of blokes, well the ones i have met anyway.... sure BC has a bad rep but don’t forget there are going to be dickheads and decent people on every forum.

At least they organise regular cruises & events (dyno days, track days, cruising)..... Much like this place was 4 or 5 years ago.... the site is also regularly expanded and really backed by the owners, again much like this forum was 4-5 years ago.

Chuck, this thing will be a beast :worship: . Can't wait for it to hit the road. Bit disappointing you won't be our competition anymore though.
