A 280ZX two seat coupe, not the +2 four seater.

Not easy to find as Nissan never sold them here, may be more practical to get one from Japan. Not going to pay silly money though, will go with a S12 if it all gets too expensive, S12 would be a lot cheaper and easier to bring up to speed too.

Looking at using a Nissan V6 turbo, 400 rwhp required So if you hear of a coupe reasonably priced..........

Did you get anywhere with availability of the 280ZX coupes? I love the shape and would like to get one myself at some stage, are they existent in largish numbers over the pond?
Yanks got them too, did they not? surely a Left-Right conversion with a donor local 280zx would be quite simple?

I thought about that too...a 65 Mustang Hardtop, but by the time you do the sums to make it handle and stop (and the work the engine properly which was the original point of the thing) the budget gets shot to bits somewhat

200ZR is the later Z31 shape we had as a VG30 300ZX, except with an RB20DET

Ok now I'm the worlds worst photochopper so please forgive me - BUT I have always harboured evil intentions when it came to the famous Z's.

I figure a roof chop would be the coolest option - and have tried to demonstrate my idea below;

there is at least 2 red ones that pop up now and then.

One has plates EL TORO and the other had an LS1 or soemthign and was on EBAY a short time ago.

Not really my thing though, the roof line of the 2 seater is one of the best features IMHO.

if u want a convertible, get a 2000 fairlady,


back to the 280zx 2s coupe, my understanding is that they are still hella expensive in japan, but most do come with a 3.1ltr tripled webberd beast with all the nismo bits, the 2 seater looks heaps better than the 2+2 with the 280zxs, be unique and differant when it gets to aus,
