a guy on here had a GSR insured in his dad's name and i think the car was stolen IIRC and the policy was basically null and void as it was made on false pretences. be careful how you go about it.

go through shannons insurance. I mentioned i was a car club member and they were happy accommodate me. They prefer people who are enthusiasts and can show it (ie being a car club member).

Nice car by the way! Ive always loved the GTO/3000gt. Thats a pretty damn good price you got it for, but the compliancing quote seems a bit low, hope youve got it in writing

Shannons have a no turbos for under 25s rule now - unless they changed it again?

Do your mods in one hit so you only have to remove the engine once.

yea the compliancing that needs to be done isnt not as full on because it is under the 15 year rule stuff like retractable seatbelts for rear seats, sun visors, child restraint points on the rear parcel shelf for cars with rear seats, high level brake light, driver's side mirror to be changed from convex to flat, unleaded fuel filler opening restrictor, side intrusion bars, engineer's certificate and a new set of tyers if they are unroadworthy the ones on the gto have 80% left so it wount be a prob. if u by a car under the new srevs rules u have to bring the car back to stock if any mods have been made and get a new set of tyers even if the ones on it are new i dont now very much about that but i have heard it can cost anyway up to $5000

                thanks guys morgan

                  Dude sweet ride.

I like these things but trying to do ANYTHING in that engine bay is nigh on impossible.

Lets us all know how you go with doing the work and any mods. They are a very interesting alternative to the GTR.

yea it is very ugly but the rest of the interior looks really nice for the age of it nice bucket back seats. the only prob will be getting the front mount and pipeing in i have see some kits from http://dynamicracing1.com/customer/home.php and http://www.3sxperformance.com/ so when i get some more cash i will post my mods on this site and keep yas all posted might even see some of yas on the road

Have u ever been to japan or driven there?

If you have and did you will know that in all city areas (most of jap is city) there traffic is bumper to bumper most of the time so to drive 30 km takes 1 hour atleast so alot of people take public traffic during the week.

If that GTO had done 300,000km in japan then it would be atleast 40 years old!!

The GTO has overheating problems especially when you add a FMIC, so be vary. Hope you have a mechanic that is a good friend as it take double if not tripple the time to do any work on the engine than any other car
