    Fire Bomb group buy

OK I have news from Meridian Motorsport.
Normal retail on 4l Firebomb plumbed in system is $750.
Cost for 5 or more is $595, so a $155 saving.
The deal is this, I will print the group buy in RACE. To be in it you forward your details to me along with $100 deposit. When the group buy date closes, these details and full deposits will be forwarded to Meridian Motorsport who will order the units and ship them to you after you pay the remainder of the money.
These are the Mechanical systems, Steel tank, 4lt foam. Electric systems can be done as part of the group buy, but they will naturally cost more and you would need to contact Toby at Meridian and ask exactly how much for the system you want. Note the electric systems are considerably more expensive to service and run.
I will be getting one for my car.

Nero great news that is one hell of a discount, i guess they have faith in you and the mag, i Just hope they can get enough to meet the demand.

Also a group Buy done by/thru a mag thats got to be a firstperhaps you could entice advitisers by doing group buys for certain item, but it would have to universal to many cars/drivers, ie seat or harness
you cant spell advertisements without semen between the tits

Yes it does seem a good price and to be fair the supplier likes the idea as does Meridian Motorsport as everyone looks good doing this. Naturally enough it also makes Race Magazine look good, but it is also a reasonable way of supporting those who support the magazine....and I want one of the systems as cheap as I can get too.
AS far as enticing advertisers...well I always need to be fair to everyone and especially the readers. It is a possibility.

Having read the article and use my car for competition, I could be interested. One thing that is interesting me though is the life of these items. At the mo, I get away with 3 years on a crappy dry powder handheld. This costs around 30 bcks a pop to replace. I understand that a bomb will cost more to service, but how often does it need to be done? What kind of foam? Can a local quell/chubb kind of place do it, or is it special stuff? Does the tank need to be checked out?

Basically, what is involed with the running of a bomb? I seriously could be interested...

Thanks edo, the more the merrier.
The service life is 2 years then it needs to be checked (to meet FIA stds, for lesser motorsport you may get away with more) as any foam extinguisher. This can be done in australia in most capital cities, but the distributor can also do it as you would expect.

I can confirm that the servic cost is $100 and a refill is also around $100. The electric units service cost is around $300 as there is an 'explosive' charge to replace as well.

Nero, I'm just trying to confirm stuff before I decide to go electric or manual...

Did you want to put a date down to finalise deposits, etc?

I will post a date within the next 2 days. Will be generous, say around 8 weeks to allow those who get the magazine from newagents to be part of it. Those who want theirs faster can get them in around 4 weeks
