Echoing what the others have said.Originally posted by DCRAm I seeing something simular to the new M5?
I'm just not as nice. The lights are dreadful.
The upmarket Toyota looks fantastic. Can't wait to see one, if they make the right decision and produce them.WTB in Melb - Ford AU 6 cyl engine - needs to be in good conditionOriginally posted by paul05don't waste your time asking questions about real cars on the rice forum go to ls1 .com ,it's alot more accommodating and informative than pf.

Not at all preposterous. I was thinking exactly the same thing.Originally posted by kwottroThis may sound preposterous, and I thought I'd never say such a thing, but I honestly think the IS500 in the pic looks better than the M5.
At least Toyota/Lexus is doing something decent in a long time for a change.
I love the look (and everything else, pricetag excepted) of a good BMW as much as the next person, naturally the models untained by the mad methodist Bangle's corrupted vision.
However I think people should wake up and cease assessing the styling of every new model released by a respected car manufacturer in a positive light. I think many people's judgement is suspect because they let the image of past glories and the brand's upmarket position influence them subjectively.
Oh it's a Merc/BMW/Jag/Ferrari so it MUST look/be great, right?....
The sooner people loose this mindset, a lot of car styling might become less gimmick orientated (basically less fugly) and the Zapatinas, Bangles and any other pretentious styling weasels of this world would get the sack.
If the current taxi booted 7 series had a Kia badge, all the car illiterates and uninformed badge snobs who have said to me in person that it was "beautiful" would have a very different opinion.

Why not show the same car from the rear....the only way they look passable is if viewed from the angle as in your pic. I still think a IS500 looks a lot better. The current 7 only looks good from the side if you disregard everthing in front of the a pillar and behind the c pillar. In other words the middle is fine, it is just the "beginning" and "end" is little short of vomit inducing._________________________________
