Wes Anderson sold his Giulia Ti not that long ago. Dark blue one with white stripes.
Watched that car race probably 10 years ago now. Love it to bits.

Pre 64, to add to Nafe's Alfa suggestions, you could use one of these, a Giulia Sprint GT, 1600cc engine
and it definitely adheres to nero's rust criteria
I very nearly bought a very good one of those for $8K in about 1996. It would be extremely expensive to race prep one though. They had 100hp out of the box, 5 speed and 4 wheel discs. Not bad for 1964.

I saw Cutler's BMW at PI and was pretty impressed. It looks to be pretty well sorted but the one I saw on the weekend couldn't get near the Nb EH. Still worth looking into though, I love the shape.
If it is the yellow 2002, that's not much faster around wakefield than my 2002 which has suspension mods but is largely standard
Why not a BDA escort, they would have to be an unbeatable 4cyl and with 240hp they where able to get out them they would have to rival some of the big HP cars as well on the right tracks

It's not eligible, nor is the Fiat 124 Spyder or any other sports car for that matter.

You can't go PP - (though they also say you can't go BP which is now not true) there are now legal BP RX-2s running in Nc.
Cheers Ben, I have seen a dark blue or black one going around and seemed to be doing ok. I think there was one at PI earlier in the year too. How much can be had out of a 12A bridge port?
dsm - yep it was yellow and I shouldn't judge the car as the one down in PI was much quicker, giving some of the better Capri's a real run. My guess is that it set him back an arm and a leg.
This is what I reckon is the go
Nb - cubes (Falcon or EH)
Nc - 2002 or RX2 BP. Unfortunately I dont think the datto is going to cut it
TRAV - Tell me more about this BDA Escort business? I know nothing about them. But 240hp is right on the money.

Just an indication, some of the tarmac rally guys running BDA escorts have spent over $150k on their cars...& they arent super flash to look at. A decent BDA is a $60k engine...& it wont make 240hp (none of them do, despite inflated claims)
Edo, I heard a bloke you know spent $100K on his BDA donk.

What about a Fiat 1500 or a Prince Skyline GT? If you really have some coin to waste, what about a Jag Mk II 3.8?
These are all cool ideas, but in reality you would be much better off with something a lot of other guys race. A great deal of R&D work (ie money) has already been done for you. Take the Mini as an example. There is just so much info out there on how the get most most out of them it isn't funny.

errr, yes & $100k buys you 210 very unreliable HP.
Best idea, find a car thats already been running mid field for 2 years & run that. Give little regard to what it is, take a look at it if its all done nicely & hasnt dnf'd more than 10% of its events then go for it.
