Is this teflon cored stuff just slightly more expensive than solid gold fuel hose?

Ive seen all the V8supercars run their lines inside, & as I'll be running brake lines inside too I was just not putting anything underneath the car.
i was quoted $88.72 per metre for -10 and $60.10 per metre for -6 braided line thats teflon coated.. so more then double the cost of normal

i havnt really noticed it, just running a rubber hose with a surge tank in the back (hatch) admittedly its not running to the front of the cabin but maybe im just used to it by now hahaha

            nismogemini,

its not teflon coated rather it has a nylon/teflon core covered in braid to protect it....

im sure enzed / pirtek can assist with teflon line...speedflow do make that product but not many places stock it..

the other thing to know about teflon hose is that they prefer a crimped fitting on the end...hose clamps don't really work, and regular speedflow / aeroquip / earls braid fittings won't fit as the ID and OD of the hose is different to rubber cored stuff....

bundy tube will get my vote guy, and just use flares on each end to go to flexi bendy hose

is bundy tube just the steel tubing like in stock setups? That's all I've ever used in the rally cars. Just make sure there's no joins in the cabin.

The teflon stuff uses compression fittings (ie a brass olive crimps onto the teflon tube).

Earls do a range of this stuff but i'm not sure how big they make it, the stuff I used was only -4.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it

browny is on the money, i have only seen 're-useable' fittings for teflon up to -4...

Oh, well fark it then, I'll put the solid line in & just have the shiny stuff in the boot & engine bay.

Isn't running stainless tube cheaper than braided line?
I was gooing to remake my PS and auto tranny cooling lines out of stainless tube and then take it to pertek to get the ends put on.
Is there anything wrong with this?

                      edo,
if your really keen couldn't you just polish the lines inside the car to get that suedo shiny expensive stuff look?
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

My boxed surge tank in the boot does smell a bit on hot days and it's partitioned off from me by the rear seat and is inside it's box as well although the box is far from air tight. If the lines were in the cabin i'm sure it'd be worse. I'm just using normal fuel line with a big bulky red fuel line (dunno what it is but it sure has thick walls) running to my main pump.
If looks could kill you'd have eyes like cyanide...

I could but its probably not my cup of tea.
Im just as happy having it all painted when the cage goes in.

If its a DIY job with any sort of complexity, be prepared to budget for about twice as much tube and triple the time because of farkups. Plus AFAIK stainless is more of a biatch to bend so add some more to both of the above.

I went through something like 20m of tubing to get the hardlines nice and neat under my car because I ended up tossing my first attempt. Wasn't impressed when I got it all perfect on the second go then had a brain fade and drilled through the floor and managed to hit both, luckily it was repairable.

Why do you think I want to run absolutely everything on the topside of the floor?
