Edo, don't forget that the fuel lines aren't allowed any joins inside the cabin. This includes the join to the connector to have it go through the front or rear firewalls. I've seen a couple of people pulled up on this... and be suitable annoyed.

Yeah, thats Ok. Thats why I was just going to run a line from the boot through the firewalls (yes with nice grommets) to the carb in braided...but I didnt know they got a bit pongy.

If I can find some non whiffy I'll still do that, otherwise I guess I'll just have to use solid & braze/weld it through the firewalls & out the other sides

What fuel are you planning on running, though? Stuff like Elf WRF/TurboMax is evil, and seems to permeate through most anything.

I've seen a lot of cars that just used EFI rubber fuel line, and that didn't smell at all with PULP running through it. And it's cheap, and easy. Doesn't have the bling-bling to it, though.

My car uses SS line, covered with rubber air-line. Bitch of a job to get the air line over the top of it, but adds vibration protection for the SS line, and neatened the interior a little.

Nah, Im against these exotic fuels in rallying...its bullshit.

I'll use pulp. Of course standard rubber efi fuel line will work a treat wont it...fark, talk about making an easy job seem harder than it is. Its not like its under pressure really either, its only for a carby...

I thought you must have wanted that "Gucci" look, or sumfin? Even if it was under pressure, EFI line is rated to, what, around 200psi? Something ridiculous, if I remember rightly.

Just make sure you get the good P-Clips with the rubber inserts to hold it against the floor, and put grommets everywhere... or scurtineers will flip out. Hence why my car uses SS line in air hose. Less arguments.

Nah, no gucci for me...this is supposed to be a man car.
Everything will be neat but if I can do it right for less with no real reduction in performance then thats what will happen.
I want everything to be nice & simple, so even I can understand it.
Ive got a bit of a plan re scruitineers...Im going to befriend one of the more senior guys in Brissy & hope to get them involved in the build up.

Because it's so much better protected from shit on the road, and shit off the road in the event of an 'indiscretion'.

I've had a couple of cars that have run ordinarly low pressure fuel hose through the cabin, and never smelled anything out of the ordinary. In fact, on of the cars was Jenny's and she's got the world's most impossibly sensitive nose and no tolerance and she never complained...
Come to think of it, they're all carby cars - which "shouldn't" make a difference.

Thats the techno reason, but I can tell you that not having to lie on the floor & having no chance of sticking a drill through a loom/brakeline/fuel line on the other side of the floor might with me be more relevant.
