        they are not too bad, around $160 from memory, that is the ones to crimp the solid pins, jaycar sell a great set of crimping the normal type pins but they will cost around $85

          That seems very reasonable. Cheap enough to be affordable to DIYers. I was expecting $500+.

              There's a downloadable PDF from the web site that shows the Deutsch crimper.

              I called Comp Systems re connector pricing. 6 way ~ $15. Darn good I reckon.

                mine look different to the ones on the site, same basic design tho
                attached is the pic,

                the total cost of a 8 pin connector with the housings and pins works out at about $30 from memroy

                  Whats better, solid pins or stamped and formed?

                  Do the solid pins crimp onto the insulation to prevent the wires from taking any mechanical load?

                    i use the solid pins, i hate the other type, too much fiddling around when crimping etc

                    the wire is stripped back 5mm and then inserted into the pins, only the core of the wire is crimped,
                    im a cunt
