yeah, one is Mivec and the other isn't, the cam cover is also a telling difference of which Evo model the 4G63 was pulled out of. I'd take the non-mivec one thanks...MMC while an early pioneer on this technology haven't followed through much with it. They could prove me wrong finally fitting it on the Evo 4G.Originally posted by AlexinPerthUpper timing belt cover is a clue..

I've been thinking that it was a good idea since it was announced that the IX would have it - but it'd be nice to see some dyno graphs before and after MIVEC was installed to see exactly how much difference it really makes.Originally posted by Evo_LeeI'd take the non-mivec one thanks...MMC while an early pioneer on this technology haven't followed through much with it. Of course, I could just take a IX for a test drive, but I think it'd be hard to organise a back-to-back test of the 9 vs the 8. Especially in Perth.

MIVEC for it's purpose was introduced for a better response, wider power band and better fuel efficency.Originally posted by AlexinPerthI've been thinking that it was a good idea since it was announced that the IX would have it - but it'd be nice to see some dyno graphs before and after MIVEC was installed to see exactly how much difference it really makes.

The motor journos in Japan have mixed feelings about MIVEC...though overall the E9 is still good. Because the most important thing, the superior handling is still there for the driver to keep pushing the car to the limit.F20C Kouki AE86

Exactly. Evos have always been about response and the widest possible power band. I doubt you would see much difference in outright power, but possibly a change for better/earlier power delivery. IMHO the top end on evos has never been that strong due to the mid range bias. The fitting of MIVEC could be to counter the use of a smaller turbo for better response with higher lift cams.Originally posted by Evo_LeeMIVEC for it's purpose was introduced for a better response, wider power band and better fuel efficency.

I'm thinking these should be different enough and eligible for import...but with only 2500 to be built they probably won't be cheap to bring in.

This one the GT-A Wagon with the 5AT, I noticed no pedal shift like the E7 GT-A

Looks better than the current WRX wagon. I'd have one and probably would prefer it over the sedan as it doesn't have the huge ass spoiler._________________________________
