Ok if we are gonna talk RWD, I see that the r34 GTST are a reasonbale price, what about those?

I have considered a evo, maybe a 6, how much they go for? GF doesnt like the look of them though, but then again its not for her

Dont spose you could push the budget boundaries & get a 350z...it would save changing your nick & avatar etc...that alone would be worth the extra $

Yeah out of all those, my vote would be a s15...

Newer, more parts available, will annihilate a peugeot gti (in most cases :p)... win, win situation

I agree with edo, I'm a pretty ordinary steerer yet have embarressed more than my fair share of GTR's. The S15's are reliable, newer, most are aus delivered, and with more performance parts available than you can think of.

I'm another who believes the R32 is still the best looking of the modern lot (R33/R34). Also one of my all time favourites. I have thought about owning one many times but the age + complexity + probability something is going to go wrong has kept me away.

Besides that other options might be an STI or EVO.

Evo 6s are low thirties now if you believe J-spec.

And you can turn them off.

If you want a real unmodified one with low kays, be prepeared to pay for it. There are a lot of low kay, stock 32s around, but what they actually mean is, high kay, modified GTR put back to stock with a speedo change.

If you plan to keep it stock they are bullet proof, but who keeps a GTR stock ? In stock form, you will pretty much be line ball or possibly be beaten by everyone that challnges you. They were the king 15 years ago, now they are not. So, if you are a true enthusiast and always wanted one, go ahead and find a good example. I'm certain it will still be quite reliable.

As soon as you feel it's getting boring and needs more power, be prepeared to fork out thousands. In the 5 years of GTR ownership, i am one of the lucky (and/or smart ) ones. I blew an inlet manifold gasket a couple of years ago and had some clutch/gearbox issues, which is to be expected from a modified GTR. But also know of many owners who spent hell of a lot more.

With a budget of ~$30k, above suggestions are very sound. A later model EVO or an S15 will possibly be more reliable and just as fun.

yeah im interested in the evo option, the only other option I would consider is the series 6 rx7 but I guess like the gtr and the gtir its getting a bit old now and would require a fair bit in maintenance.
