Let me know when this meeting takes place, I would be very interested in drinking the beer.Originally posted by edoBull, you & I will be sitting down with a few beers & disecting the hell out of the rules & formulating a plan so that you can build a better car than everyone else in the class & beat them, claiming it was all just talent.
I will have to come round and have a gork at the car Cal.

So with no Power steer, no A/C & LSD your basically building a Clubman & welding in a cage / better brakes?
100rwkw NA, thats going to be a lot of fun on the track... .Can you do little things like bore out the throttle body / power port the intake manifold, overbore & sleave, cams etc?...
Looks very nice though, still going to be able to keep it road rego'd?

The cams will not be too wild, can't remember the profile. The TB must remain stock, but as Josh says, people cheat there. The motor is onlt bored 20 thou from stock. I'm picking up another Torsen LSD centre on Saturday, then do the suspension. Then I will get a safety cert and rego it. Then the cage can go in. Motor will be last. The brakes will be stock 1800 MX5 (they are loads bigger than the 1600) with slotted rotors, stainless lines, master cylinder brace and comp fluid. Same setup I currently have on the green car and I have no dramas against the others under brakes at the moment. People have tried series 6 RX7 brakes and Willwoods and ended up going back to stock brakes.

I should sell the green one, but I just finished rebuilding a LOT of tha car. So I'll keep it for a weekend toy. Although the new one will be registered, I will hardly be a nice thing on the street.

Cal found some info on that intake manifold porting, maybe something you could look at as well?.

From looking at the figures, HP is there to be made (although i have no idea of the cost to get this done here)

To get my front housing extrude honed cost $250. I asked the bloke about inlet manifolds and he said depending on how hard it is to jig, $300 to $400 for a four cylinder manifold. The figures for a standard VN 5 litre (bunch of bananas) manifold he had on hand were impressive.Originally posted by psi999From looking at the figures, HP is there to be made (although i have no idea of the cost to get this done here)
