I wonder if the riot police will be in attendance. They really need to make it a grog free event too.
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

That's what the bikies are there for Secoh, they usually keep the "cuzins in da duzins" under control.

I initially thought that could be a problem a week ago but what Rhys said. The rebels keep things as controlled as they can be.

              rubbish.

last year a group of swedes blocked off the return road behind the burnout pad for the bro's to do burnouts on..

security rocked up and told them to scatter - they took great offense to this and wanted to punch on with security.

I'll be there anyway - i'm keen to see this Datto 1600 that's supposed to be something never seen before ??
              no i don't own a swift

I saw them try a similar thing (block the road for skids) between the shell and the dyno hall. Swedes mouth off at security, one random biker smash a swede then if was on like donkey kong. Security did nothing as per usual (i don't blame but, i'm not going to get my head kicked in, no matter how much they get paid)

It's being built by the son of grand champion winner Pete Fitzpatrick - so far no one has been able to find out anything.

Normally i ignore 4 cylinder showcars thanks to Autosalon abortions, but this 1600 is sounding like I/we won't be dissapointed.

                    here's hoping anyway

Ah yes fitzys 1600, I have a little inside info. In fact that reminds me, better shoot over and see him. It should be bloody awesome from what I have been told. If its anything like the FC it will be special.

Last time I went to the Summernats, 8-9 yrs ago, I went with a non-petrol head mate who was going out of some anthropological curiosity. We only went for a day, but he described the scene "as if someone had come along and butt-fucked Canberra"

It is of no surprise to hear that event has had ongoing security problems from its inception. Secoh is correct, it should be a "dry" event.

Unless someone wants to sponsor the event to the same if not more tune as to what Jack Daniels & Carlton United do ..... then it will never become a "grog" free event.

I'd prefer people to start being reasonably responsible while drinking , if possible. Really should not be trouble with having a few coldies at the heat of summer.I was at the ASRF nationals a couple of years ago, lots of folks were walking around with a stubbie etc no problems. chic Henry was openly standing there saying how much he liked the more family atmosphere that was there & how the summernats used to be and how he missed that. The summernats is a dickhead & swede festival currently.Making it a dry event would probably be reasonable idea but would that stop the idiot factor & trouble?? My guess atm is no.
