USA so far

This was a whole lot of alright to drive too. I competed in the Subaru Challenge the other weekend at Palmdale (whoa that place if crappy... Makes Heathcote look like WSID). Due to the elevation I could only manage a 13.2, but I came second outright in the Autocross (in a LHD) out of 80 WRXs

My family and I did 2 1/2 weeks LA/Vegas/Arizona in September and I wanted to got to Pomona(drove close going out to Vegas) and just get a pic because my grandparents were soem of the first settlers in Pomona Qld. I never knew the museum was there :knock:
Would have been great to see.
So much more that was there we never saw too. You only realize just how much is there after you have been because of how much you recognize and can then relate too.
Where are you having Christmas? How cool is it in California now? I guess from what it was when we were there it is much like our eastern winters here, cery mild and only really cold at night?

Spending Christmas in San Diego and NYE in Vancouver with friends. Weather down here is sooo nice. Even compared to LA, the days are clearer too (less smog)

Pomona is a pretty wicked track. I'll post up some NHRA Sport Compact finals pis when I get a chance.

USA is definitely a car lovers paradise though. So far here's what I can remember I've been to since I landed.

American Lemans Finals - Laguna Seca
NHRA SC Finals - Pomona
SEMA - Las Vegas
lateral-g.com get together in Vegas (some insanely cool muscle cars there)
XDL Show - Irwindale
Subaru Festival - Palmdale
D1 USA - Irwindale

and a whole bunch of other ones I've missed. There's always more though.

Has been good catching up with fellow Aussie Jamie Montesalvo (on here as BrokenWRX). He's the head mechanic for Easystreet Motorsport and is doing a great job there. The circuit car they help with just came 3rd outright in a 25hr race event!

Would have loved to do San DIego too but just ran out of days. Maybe next time. I will definatly be doing lots more research before we leave next time.
I would have liekd to holiday in Europe at one time but I had sucha great time in the US my wife and I are going back when the kids are old enough to fend for themselves and we are going to do Route 66 form NY back to the West Coast

San Diego is definitely a cool place to go. I was in Chula Vista today, which is about 5 minutes drive from Mexico (Tijuana). During the year they have 1/8 mile drags a few times a month at the Qualcomm Stadium. Sucks being an 1/8th, but the cool thing is that they have 4 drag lanes, so the racing goes without slowing down all night till midnight.
