Well the Hook turn on (RH) corners was a bit off putting in Perth...but I've had some training as a tourist in Melbourne since then....so I guess I should be OK next time I'm in Perth!

Interesting use of terminology, as I define hook turning as turning from the left-hand lane into a right-hand turn, ala how Melbournites cross tram lines.

To be honest, I can't really say I've seen it being done in cars, but have seen the occasional truck and bus swinging out a bit to clear a kerb.
