Everyone who I've spoken who has had a turbo, has told me that the GT3 is by far the better drivers car. From what I've been told, the turbos understeer more, and whilst they have far more power, the GT3s are actually quicker stock for stock on a track.

Unsure how the new 997 turbo will perform though...but I'd personally take the GT3...sounds a LOT better(revs revs revs)..

The 997 Carrera S is supposed to be quicker than the 996 GT3. The 997 doesn't appear to have too many technical innovations, as it supposedly runs the 3.6 rather than the new 3.8. That said, it should have the true sequential gearbox (rather than the tiptronic). So in the whole, you would expect it to be quicker than the Carrera S, but I wonder just how much quicker.

Then the 997 GT3 should be a stormer.
I remember seeing a Top Gear show on the 360 Challenge Stradale versus the 996 GT3 RS..Even though the GT3RS is heavier and with less power, they share the same timeslip on the track,..and from the vids the Porsche looks more confident round the corners whereas the 360 Challenge Stradale looks nervous..even with the electronic gadgets(traction control..etc). The GT3 RS is the opposite. just Rawwww...I sound bias...maybe Im more of a Porsche fan.
Btw, there will be a Porsche version of the "DSG"...called PDK, prolly mean Porsche-Dual-Klutch(?).. I won't be surprised if they fit this into the 997 GT3..as an option of course.
I must have read it somewhere but I know it's from a yank magazine(road and track or car and driver)..and they have extracted silly 0-60mph times from the 997 Carrera S, which is a whopping 3.9secs or something like that.
