    The Astra shitbox strikes again!!

Yet again the absolutely unbelieveable unreliability of this turd raises it's head. The starter motor shat itself AGAIN. Yes this is the 2nd started motor. Only a few months after it snapped the cambelt at astonishingly low kms. I should write a box of the things that have been replaced on this car including the ECU. You might recall these 2 threads: http://www.performanceforums.com/for...ighlight=astra and http://www.performanceforums.com/for...ighlight=astra

you might recall me comparing the astra with a camira and being booed down by a number of other members. :D
Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

Why does sticking a Holden badge on an otherwise good car demonstrably turn it into a shitbox?

Funnily enough I saw one broken down this morning on the Oxley overpass roundabout, would have been all of 1-2 years old. Bloody thing was holding up enough traffic.

Why, what's good about a 1.8 petrol Opel Astra? They apparently break down a lot in Yewrop too ...
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

The previous barina/opel corsa didn't have a great reputation either. Although better than a ford capri from the late eighties early nineties...

Atleast there are a LOT less electronics on the late 80's Capri. They are just a Laser with an ugly topless body on it.

My old man brought an astra a couple of years ago against my recommendation and its had no end of problems. Buy a corolla if you want reliable. My one is nearly 2.5 years old now and hasn't had one problem.
