What kinda system would one recommend for high dollar cars like the EVO, WRX, GTR, M3, AMG?

The IX's Security system is crap compared to the VIII's.

In fact, if you can steal an EVO IX without the owner knowing - then it's yours until the Owner finds out and contacts the company and begins tracking... It's totally passive and NOT connected to the Alarm... Poor form..

      WOW!

They kept going on about "Geo Locking" ie: when you lock the car, if the car moves more then 200 metres from the "locked" location, the car immediatly phones home. Then Diamond care call you to confirm and start tracking the vehicle.

Is this not how it works ?

the geolock sends you an sms to let you know and then you call them to start tracking.

but southo is right, its passive. it has 2 factory immoblisers, the other 2 are the passive ones for the diamondtrack.

hopefully someone develops an alarm to connect to it.

there are a *lot* of problems with the dt unfortunately

So another words, everytime you hop into the car and start driving, you get an SMS I reckon that would get rather annoying after a while, it's a lot of SMS's!

I would think that unlocking the car would disable the feature until the next time it is locked... That would make sense to me anyway

what if someone stole your keys?

its made so that no matter what it cant be deactivated.

putting up with the sms isnt that bad. that way at least you know the system is working.

Seriously, why can't they offer some much more understated versions, like an AMG Benz, or M series BMW??? (and I think more recent M beemers are startting to get a bit showy) Do they think all their potential customers have the mentality of a teenage boy??

Personally, I think the back end of the MPS 6 isn't the greatest. If only they made it in the hatch version....

I reckon the S204 looks like a heavy hitter without going over the top. If I ever hankered for a Subaru, it would be that one.

As for the EVO tracking system, what if you don't own a cancer causing phone?

If you want understated, Subaru has:

                              Liberty 3.0R B
Liberty GT (now discontinued, will be replaced with 2.5 later this year)
                              Liberty GT tuned by STi

                              Other Marques:
                              Golf R32 (getting expensive)
                              Audi S3 (also expensive)

As for even comparing an MPS as an alternative to an WRX STi or EVO 9, mate there is NO comparision, compare the MPS to the Liberty GT (in fact Motor or Wheels did that recently) but the MPS will get it's head kicked by the other two.

People probably buy these cars for different reasons, but the reason I wanted either a EVO or STi was: I could buy one these cars have pretty much a bulletproof package that didn't need money thrown at it. Basically they've everything you want, with the extroverted exterior and bonus or hinderance (depending on your POV). Already the rear spoiler is getting annoying not being able to see traffic in the rear view mirror.

                              As for:

"Do they think all their potential customers have the mentality of a teenage boy"

Honestly who here has mentally passed to age of thirteen anyway. I know I haven't!
