Different views on Barinas???

Idiot? Im not the one creating drag racing classes for myself because my car might not cut it in the normally accepted classes. Why didnt he say that his car may make it into the top 10 FWD cars or even top 10 FWD street cars if he wants to mix it with the Jap cars?

Noone's creating any drag racing classes, though you do appear to be creating your own special (and by that, I mean the "short yellow bus" kind of special) spin on reading comprehension. To anyone else, it's perfectly obvious that the comment refers to the outright top 10 FWD class, and that 'non-japanese car' is mentioned as a cliff note.

Looks to me like its perfectly obvious that its FWD in a non japanese car. If he was talking about outright, why did he need to add in that its not japanese? You would think after reading about everything done to it you would at least know where it came from, although I wouldnt expect too much sense from people looking at modified barinas so maybe you are right.

You're the only one who pushed the point once it was corrected though. I'll concede that my "anyone else" comment may in fact be incorrect; with the amount of ignorance displayed so far in this thread, it's difficult to sort one kind from the other. Perhaps I should have said "To anyone else intuitive enough to realise that their socks go on before their shoes, etc etc."

The fact that there's no such thing as a FWD non-Japanese car class should have made it perfectly obvious as to what the comment made reference to, and that the "non-japanese car" annotation expresses the owner's motivation to compete in the FWD class (typically dominated by Japanese cars) in something different. Make sense?

My comment was purley aimed at the fact he says he doesn't add anything if it doesn't increase performance, yet he added a guage that does exactly NOTHING..

As for the car - not MY cup of tea, but if he is happy with it, Good stuff. more power to him...

I didn't do my car to please others, it's for me. If others don't like it, I won't lose any sleep. If only more moddified car owners can understand that not EVERYONE is going to like your car or what you have done to it...

To clear the point up, the car will have a nitrous kit installed in the near future; it's still very much in the early days of development and hasn't even been tuned to it's full potential yet, making the 229kw atw on only 15 psi with a 7000rpm rev limit. In hindsight, I guess he could have left a hole in the dash until the kit was hooked up to ensure noone's sensibilities were offended...

I completely agree with your last point - it's a shame others don't share your views. Perhaps it would have generated a better discussion had it been posted in a different manner.

It's an oversight - there's plenty of other things that aren't listed there either. Considering he built a barina, I'd say it's pretty safe to assume he doesn't give a shit whether or not you think he's stupid, especially over such a trivial omission.

The sound the indicator makes when it is "on." It is not unlike that of one of those hand held nintendo games from the early 80's such as Donkey Kong. There could well be an aftermarket kit to make the sounds a little more manly. Such as the sound of an opening can, or Booney saying something.

Donkey kong is cool, however the one i drive doesn't make hardly any noise at all. Maybe they took it out of later cars?
