I faced the saem decision when I bought my MY02. I ended up getting the wagon becasue we were renovating a house and I needed to carry shit all the time.

If he is driving hard enought to pick the difference between the sedan and the hatch, he better hope like christ he is on a racetrack.

I was exceedingly happy with my wagon and didn't have any issues with body flex.

      Thanks all, some good responses.

Firstly, looks are secondary. I think neither are pretty and image means nothing to anyone who isn't an insecure twit.

Secondly, the car wouldn't be used on a racetrack (well, never say never), but would be given a bit of a pasting on dirt tracks from time to time. If the wagon can be steered from the rear under brakes, this could be a major bonus.

There's a factory option of STi suspension, but at 5k looks a bit exxy. You get factpry warranty but I read in the specs that it's for road use only and shouldn't be used off road. This sounds crazy - I mean isn't it heavier duty and designed for rally? Can you not take an STi on dirt without changing coil overs? Or is it just the manufacturers covering themselves against people doing their best right 180 over crest effort and getting 4 feet of air?

Allowing for his usual bias and bullshit, I think that’s a fair translation.
          Happy Christmas
