Internal affairs and the police ombudsman. Send them the details of the car (ie rego) and time.

Maybe DCR will know where complaints should be directed in QLD? Is there an ombudsman?

I agree you're likely to have buckley's chance of anything being done about it, but if you don't try there's less than buckley's chance. Maybe this guy has already been grilled over his behaviour & in this instance your story might carry some weight.

Isnt there an ethical board or something in QLD?

Dont make complaints at the station, they just get filed in the round floor file. Make the complaint to the ombudsman or equivalant....

          Better yet... TODAY TONIGHT!!!

There is nothing you can do about shifty. It is a bit dissapointing that things like that happen, but, they do, and will continue to do so.

And when you left the police station, the kind police made note of your licence plate and you will be pulled over every chance they get.

this is what happened with me. he was a probationary constable with a bad attitude, who had been reported twice previously for bad behavior. i reported it to the police ombudsman, and was my word vs his.

due to his track record, his supervisor believed me, and was fired. 3 strikes and you are gooooooone

Nice to read some of the gutless non supportive comments here

There is a complaints procedure which requires each written complaint to be properly investigated. Nothing may come of it but they do add up and apparently are a pain for all involved. So, good for you Shifty if you do complain

At the very least they will have to respond to your complaint.

Is there some sort of police ombudsman you can send your letter to?

Probally all as crooked as one another anyway....

                            * the cop obviously has no idea how to handle the car at that speed
                            * the cop obviously has no idea how to read traffic or anticipate required actions in advance
                            * this cunt is the same one who would give me a lecture & fine for doing 10km/h over the limit, write me up for a loud exhaust or book me for an unsafe mudguard (that's the latest thing in the bike world - mudflap too short = ticket!).
You said the 4WD was doing 115, then coasted down to 80. Therefore, the cop would not have seen any brakes, and could reasonably assume he was still doing 115. Im which case, 160 looks like a reasonable speed to catch the 4WD.

If the light's had of gone on in the distance, with the 4WD doing 115, chances are the 4WD would have lost the cop.

As for writing tickets for you - he is just enforcing the law.

These are all responses you have to think about, if you want to take it any further.

No offence whip but that's some pretty shithouse reasoning for the cops actions!
