We live in a controlled world.

There are things called laws, perhaps some of you have heard of them.

When a person breaks those laws, they lose some of the freedoms people are going on about. Perhaps you go to jail, perhaps you lose the privilege of holding a driving licence.

Perhaps after you've shown that you don't deserve some of these privileges, you should have to serve some kind of suspension (jail, licence suspension, etc), then actually prove you are responsible enough to be trusted tot he same level of others - parole, or here's an idea .. limited licence.

You need to earn back the privileges so that you can be free in our controlled world. Who would you have to blame for this?

    It makes perfect sense.
    Happy Christmas

Regarding the comments regarding my comment.

      wrx's and rx7's and so on have these advantages over bikes safety wise ;

      - They have a roof & cabin
      - They do not do a 10/11sec 1/4 mile stock out of the factory for a miserable 20-25k
      - They have quite decent braking power
      - They do not do wheelies as easily

Now I know that the guy is an idiot, but I've always believed that the fast jap bikes are a bit silly. They are just way too quick and far easily too accessible.

These bikes are just scary quick in a straight line.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to take one for a spin but i just think they are a bit silly.

I really don't think restricting someone to a certain 'speed/power' is going to make 2/10ths of difference. If you drive like an idiot, you can kill yourself in a 50hp corona/50cc scooter.
Unfortunately you need to rely on that person maturing and thinking of the consequences. Some people learn quickly and some don't.

Then jump in a 1.5 litre lancer (or any other shitbox) and see how much you accelerate just to feel the rush, the push in your back, that wonderful surge forward.

It's simply not there and as a result on the same stretch of road (apart from a 5km straight where you can wind it out), you simply can't go as fast and don't even bother trying.

We don't want to drive these cars / rides these bikes because they are boring. People like Matthew Mork, George Edmonds, Guy Byrne should ONLY be allowed to drive these cars because they are boring and "comparitively" slow.

So it's the end of the world when a dickhead's car gets confiscated, but it's stiff shit when a dickhead dies?

I keep hearing people say that we should ban low performance drivers, not high performance cars / bikes.

                That's all I'm suggesting.

                [Edit: bikes / cars]

But I don't need a decent stretch of road to crash. I'm so inexperienced that I could crash doing 80kph along <insert main road here>. My motto is that 'if my car has no guts, I need to push it harder to impress my mates'. I got this theory from Mr Byrne.

Better that you crash at 80 and get suspended for years, rather than 180 and go into a box forever!

And all have a MUCH greater chance of taking at LEAST a passenger with you.

you can however, get into a 10/11 sec car with crap brakes etc etc etc for <25K..
This is a post i wrote by mistake, which is nice...

I can kill myself or someone else at 50kph on a busy road (especially if I'm driving an old, "gutless" car). Speed is irrelevant, despite the brain washing I have received from TV.

                          Do you brake before corners?

If speed was irrelevant, you would buy a car without brakes and do 150km/h rather than 50 on that aforementioned busy road.

Magical numbers in red circles are less relevant than what the government would have us believe however.

Sorry, the importance of speed is only relative to the conditions.
The number of KW my datsun/McLaren makes is just as irrelevant as those numbers in the red circles.
