I think its great, and his attitude to tyre kickers was even better.

Sounds like your talkin out ya arse mate, what turbo rotors have ya driven? I've driven a few and particularly with that gearing I think they'd have plenty

I hear what you are saying sheel, but they have twice the horsepower and torque compared to even the 2 litre petrol engine as fitted standard.

          2.0 : 64 kw @ 5000 rpm
          153 Nm @ 2800 rpm

          13b turbo s4:
          146 kw @ 6500 rpm
          294 Nm @ 5000 rpm

I can't find a graph of the torque for either of them, however, double the torque at double the rpm means 4 times the power there, so even if it had half that torque at 3000 it is still the same as the petrol engine.

The gearing is low enough that it would still be ok to get off the line. The max weight on the van plus trailer is over 3 tonnes. I am positive that it would be no worse than stock anywhere, except in fuel economy :D

get the boost up low enough in the revs, and even my 993cc motor has supprising torque.

thats sorta what I'm trying to say... no doubt it would kill the 4 cyl in most area's of the rev range.
I'm just thinking if your were say...cruising along at 60k in 4th gear doing 2000rpm. And you floored it without dropping back a gear. It would take a considerably longer time for the rotor to get up to 5000rpm.
If you DO drop it back a gear. The rotor wins hands down. no doubt.

I guess there is only one way of really knowing. take that van for a test drive!
who wants to ask the seller?....

                Looks hot

Looks good for the price, don't about the engine though, rotatys generally have some problems
