It cannot run in supersports in Aust as it has a central drivers position and so I am not sure what they are planning to do with it...a 'legends' type series? The only problem with that is that the S2000 cars are technical, very technical and much much faster.
A bit late in response, but a mix-up in the myriad of SCCA classes, the West/Renegade or whatever they call it, is in fact a D/C sports racer usually running either 1000 or 1300cc bike powerplant(although car powerplants are permitted with an equivalency factor - just like here ) Not sure if these cars have continued development after a fall out with the original designer, his cars run tunnels now. I believe the cars are eligible to run in the AASA series.

The S2000 cars are pretty agricultural, basic spaceframe, slab-sided bodywork and running a 4 pot Ford with standard induction. Some advantages - cheap to run, good grids compared to the sports racers and good car availability (was a pro series years ago).

Back on topic, some interesting info on the manufacture of the foam buck for the Mulsanne, was unaware anyone in Oz had that sort of machinery capability.

hey Nero, aren't you gonig to get scunted for having the cigarette logo's on the cars still? I thought you had to airbrush them out by law?

gxxr, thanks for the american background. The information on some of the american sports racer websites is great, but as per much in america (and elsewhere in the world) it is quite specific to the local area. The stohr cars etc look very good and they certainly appear fast in video's.
Not sure how the AASA sportscar series will work. Some wide discrepancies in speeds of the cars and things like the West have a huge advantage such that they may need to run in their own class?
The Mulsanne deserves to succeed and I was surprised too re the cnc machining, but then the yhatties are way ahead in some areas.

intehnet...dunno, no one else seems to brush them out in other magazines. Any opinions out there?
Thanks for the feedback Hamish, I hope whatever cred Race has translates to sales!

I can't see any tobacco sponsorship on the cover 962?

Its an interesting point. The cars have to present as they raced, including tobacco decals etc so I imagine that they can be printed ad infinitum (sic), but no new cars?

I thought I'd re-subscribed but it appears I haven't - Got the issue yesterday from the newagent and I really like the datalogging article. It's very good.

I went to a meeting the other night with all the Qld guys that race MX5's in Marque Sports and AASA. They were pissed off because in a fairly short race at Morgan Park the 2F cars atleast are being lapped by the likes of the Mulsanne. Not a problem in itself, but over a whole race meeting it means they are not getting to run a lot of laps they used to. That coupled with the extra expense of the CAMS meetings and the travel involed to MP, means they are not going to bother turning up.

A big thumbs up to RACE. :worship:

Meridian Motorsport. (Backpage Advertisers) were able to help me with a specialist vent valve at a good price.
They seem well pleased with the market they are dealing with in regards this advert and said that some other magazines/papers had lost the plot.

So again, great going on the advertisers on the products that they stock.

Either Borders at MacQ have sold all of theirs, or they didn't get it this time 'round.
They're the best "newsagent" around here that I'm aware of too. Bugger ... I'll have to go a-huntin'.
Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

Well, glad you all like the mag. Re trav's add...blame me I put it together at the last minute so its my fault! But I am glad to have him there.
Smee glad you had good service with Meridian, I have found them good to deal with. I did not want any dubious businesses advertising hence my refusal of one well known fuel catalyst.
BTW Godiva will be getting a heart soon, will let you all know when it arrives...

It's abit further north for you Forg, but I know that the newsagent in Westfield Hornsby (ground floor near Coles) has several copies.

Tried the newsagent on Lane Cove Rd outside of MacQ? They usually have a very good selection of motoring mags.

If you haven't already grabbed it, the Newsagent on Lane Cove Rd (next to KFC) at North Ryde has a few copies as of an hour ago......
