Ford discovers drifting with the 'DRIF6' concept turbo Falcon!!!111oneone
Easy...the rad looks stock cos they are still using the Falc remote plastic header thingy, and there doesn't seem to be any big oil lines, etc snaking thru the engine bay to suggest the presence of an oil cooler.
But hey...several of the cooling system parts have been painted a fetching shade of blue...and we all know that blue is a cool colour
...and in the listing of upgrades, they've even gone so far as to list the grade of engine oil used...so I'm sure if there were cooling upgrades they woulda said so :D
i am sure they will do some testing including cooling system before racing ...
Ford have been into drifting since the dawn of the motoring age.
Even recently the EL falcon was renowned for drifting all over the road whilst you were trying to drive it in a straight line. Taking corners at any speed greater than 20km/h below the posted limit would result in serious drifting action.

Bullshit.

Listen moron, they only slide if the tyres are shithouse, and the simple fact is they are very predictable at the limit. I've never had a problem with mine tracking straight either, unless the wheel alignment is way out.

I guess predictably poor is one category of predictable. I used to drive one regularly as the company hack and it was shithouse. Even took it in to get get the aligment/shockers checked because it was so bad. The ford service bloke did all the checks and said "it's all within spec, that's just how they are". Maybe it was just the factory spec tyres, but the car never felt right.
And hey look - I responded to your post without stooping to personal abuse in order to defend my viewpoint! Pity you couldn't do the same.

wtf? you assume the cooling system is stock because they use the factory egg carton? of course...
the lack of "big oil lines snaking through the engine bay" could be because they took a little care in the presentation, and ran them around the bottom of the engine bay, instead of up over the top of the engine, so they could rub and chafe on everything and make the bay a shit to work on and look like a dogs breakfast...
a usual drift course only lasts for 30 seconds or a minute, you dont do 'laps' so IMHO the cooling requirements are not any more (or maybe less) strenuous than a circuit car.
following quote from fordforums.com, writted by "happy jack" ie david flint, manager of FPV, in a thread about this car, where quite a few people on there were giving FPV a serve about the hypocricy of building this car and then not warranting modified or thrashed customer cars:
Each year for those that have tracked the progress of Tickford and FPV, the guys do a fun project with no support(dough) from me. They do whatever they want, in their own time with bits and bobs that they are able to scrounge from suppliers or the scrap bin.
They do it to amuse themselves and produce something different for our visitors to enjoy.
DRIF6 is such a project.
It is not in FPV's cycle plan.
It is not for sale.
If it were to be raced (or drifted) we have no idea how long it would live.
It is not street legal.
I am not aware of warrantees given by any provider of non street legal race (read Drift) car parts.
Seems to me that there is always someone who feels the need to p*** on someone elses chips.
Hey! Ho! some things never change.

I've since found out more about this, car, it looks like it goes alright, so I am 100% happy to stand corrected on this front :D
But mate, you gotta admit...just because you can't see any oil lines doesn't mean that they are under the guards (any more so than not seeing any oil lines means that they aren't)

Who gives a fuck anyway? Going by the pics the car drifts OK and I can't see any exploding radiators or engines.
