    Headlining fitment

I want to fit the new headliner to my car which is partially held in place by the windscreen rubbers. Given that I am still trying to find new rubbers and don't have old rubbers to put in, I am concerned that if I glue the headlining in to place now it won't hold in place until I get the windows in and I will have to fix it up later on. Is this likely to happen or am I just being paranoid? The main reason for getting the headlining in is so I can do the final fitment of the rollcage and remainder of the interior.

If anyone has any tips of fitting a headliner let me know.

you will need something to hold the edge of the hoodlining in place of the rubber, most trimmers use metal clipboard clips (you can get them from an office supply shop) and position them evenly across the window egde, say maybe 10cm apart from each other. This will hold it in place adequately until you fit the windscreen.

also, it may pay to ask ring a trimmer or seven and ask what sort of glue to use. I used K&H contact cement last time i did a hoodlining but it didn't really hold too well when I went to fit windows in later. If you can find something that holds well and dries quickly it'll make the job heaps easier.

I obtained some clips from the... ummm... supply shop... :D

I have some contact adhesive that shoudl be plenty strong enough. I just need to test it on an offcut before I go ruining the new material!
