how to get rid of car bodys

If you leave them long enough, rust can normally remove them for you...

i've had several cars taken away free in Sydney ,(even a Austin 1800 landcrab ). I think this thread can be summed up as follows - ring a place they take any car away free , unless it's a Ovlov in which case you will need to pay them . Just the way it's always been .

Dunno about doing it for nothing; after calling around quite a few places I had to pay $20 for someone to get rid of a near-complete Volvo 264 body (no engine, gearbox, front-end panels, interior or dash) ... and they've got a fair bit of metal in them.

My brother basically had to beg someone to take away his drivable 240GL with 3 weeks rego ....I think its a Volvo thing.

sims metal came all the way up the mountain to collect about 30 engines and associated pieces I had laying around. Didnt cost me a thing (might have got money for it if it wasnt so far out of the way).

If you have a decent amount of metal they wont charge you, 2 car bodies sounds like a bit of steel. Failing that try the local papers and the trading post. Definately shouldnt have to pay for it

Chop it up into small pieces and put a few bits in the recycling bin each week..

I've had car bodies taken away a couple of times. Make sure you put all sorts of junk in the boot first like buckled wheels, worn tyres, broken gearboxes, the sorta shit that nobody would take away otherwise.

Figured it was you Hows the (now) 325i coming along? got the bonnet painted yet? could you salvage the gearbox from one of the wrecked cars to sell?

Not that you probably need another number, but metal corp at oxley (probably the closest out of their offices) is 3379 4000

Thanks for the number, the 325 is going quite well, ive got MS now, so i just gotta get arround to building and installing it...... prolly over easter, and yeah its all one colour now :D

oh and yeah i can get a box out for you, i only have a 318 one though, and it was in the crash, the engine is half through the fire wall, so it may not be in so good nick, but ill pull it out for you

If you are going to trash the cars to the recyclers, if you want to get the box out (i can reccomend turning the car on its side to make it easier :p) ill swing you some cash for it if you want to remove it. Pm me with what you want for it.

wasnt planning on, didnt know how good it would be after the crash,
flipped the car on its side, to get the fuel tank out :p was fun
yeah, you can have the parcell shelf too. ill let you know when i they are out.
