why don't you bring an aussie car over there and drive that? a falcon coupe or falcon/commo ute is something special over there even though they are garden variety here.Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

Pretty sure not ... BMW have been making US-friendly M-sport models since they lost some kudos there on the E36.Originally posted by itsnotagsrAre these M5s watered down versions?Soft roaders represent an excellent compromise between the needs of the hardcore 4x4 user and the convenience of a city hatchback. Its clear to see why they have become so popular in todays society.

That's a great idea (XR6T maybe?Originally posted by Secohwhy don't you bring an aussie car over there and drive that? a falcon coupe or falcon/commo ute is something special over there even though they are garden variety here.
), but it's probably too hard to get a RHD new car registered over there.
I say make friends with someone at emissions, buy whatever you want and then drive it FTW!
On a serious note, the price for that M5 is just re-hee-hee-diculous!There are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Well, to an extent, but more than any other marque? I find some bits are scarcer than others and therefore more than they used to be, but would you expect otherwise for any older car?Originally posted by mizoneMOPARS are hard to get bits for, even in the US. And I don't mean steel either (Year One and Shermans have almost everything) but stuff like glass is niegh on impossible to find repo.
Picking a good example in the first place is usually the smart way to go if you decide on classic ownership, of any marque. There are plenty of people who manage to keep theirs on the road. Are you speaking from experience?I reckon being free just scares some people shitless

Thanks for the help guys.
I'm locked in on the idea of a E46 M3 now. Tried to sleep on it for the last week but just getting more and more worked up about the idea, very keen. One day would like to do the charger restore, but as mentioned it might be a bit hard in california. I have a few all set to go have a look at when I get there in early may.... here's one I'm particularly keen on...
2002 BMW M3 - $33,000 obo, ~60K miles
titanium silver coupe - imola red leather interior
6 year / 100K miles factory warranty
100K miles engine warranty (due to rod bearing recall on M3's)
6 speed sequential flappy paddle
dvd navigation
premium package - roof/heated leather/memory seats etc
6 disc harmon kartcher, rain sensor, park sensor (i guess the wife will like that)
original bits, plus
35% tint
*Ground Control adjustable street coilovers w/ camber plates
*OEM CSL alcantera steering wheel
*Vorsteiner CSL front bumper (will have OEM bumper shortly if you prefer that)
*Tubi muffler
*BMW Individual Imola Red leather center console
seriously - why the fuck wouldn't i
