Went to pickup a few radiators from SSS today, was on beaudesert road behind a new XR6 when a 1200 ute pulled up in the lane next to us. Looked fairly average, was sitting there stuffing around with something on the dash and giving the throttle a bit of a stab to bring the revs back up while waiting for the lights. XR6 owner took it to mean it was war, started reving his engine, lights went green and the 1200 destroyed him, didnt even stand a chance (it was turboed, given how popular it is, probably a CA or maybe an SR). Come boundary road, XR6 owner did a similar thing to your R33 driver, lit it up across the main road, fishtailing across the intersection almost taking out the divider (and traffic light).Originally posted by Buford T. when i go home today i will have to ask her, and if so give her a stern lecture in responsible driving...Originally posted by SecohROFL! Yes actually! had mags but dunno if they were 18's or not.
I'm sure if the skyline dude had've spooled it up properly it would have gotten off the line properly, but I suspect Gruntrose's mum took him by surprise.

i have to say the adverage magfalcadore always seem to do well at the TLGP, because most owners dont really respect them, they are mstly above 3l six bangers and auto. Where as a skyline with a big turbo or something with awd turbo will sometimes have a bit of a lag or bog down if they dont launch and really its going to take a quick car to make a come back by 80 in a TLGP. Most of them do 0-100 in around 7 seconds?
I mean my old tx3 would flog my current NA xr6 if it was launched but if i took off slowly it would have a wonderful bog down should i change my mind halfway making it about on par for a TLGP match up.

did the family easter thing and went to south oz ,a freind has a part share in a winery.the property has a tared air strip and we all had a bit of fun with some hire cars and my brothers xr6 n/a .a vz exec a vy company car and a r1 yamaha .my brother is not happy, the vz beat the xr6 only by a blinker and the xr6 could only put a few centermeters on the vy and we all had a spin in each car.my cousin would only let me ride the r1 (only other person with a licence he would trust)Originally posted by SirGoati have to say the adverage magfalcadore always seem to do well at the TLGP, because most owners dont really respect them, they are mstly above 3l six bangers and auto. 'sif you'd buy an NA XR6. Big arse turbo on the side makes you ignore all the clunky bits.
Pity the Commodores don't have such a distraction.David Fraser - Automotive Historian!
