        Insured for $24k.
Damage bill will need to be over $16 800 before they write it off....

Any chance of letting the airbags off? Might help your case

My GF worked in a panel shop up until recently, she’s 99% confident it will be “fixed”…. Have you got any under hood shots?....

Her panel shop was a AAMI recommended repairer too, seen much worse cars come through and be fixed.

Bit of a bugger for you, got to hurt at resale (if not trading in ) cars that have had a big hit and not written off

i guess thinking about it, it's not looking like an economic write off, but if it gets written off it will be because of structural damage...

Do i have any sway to push AAMI to write the car off on the grounds i don't think it'll be safe to be repaired, and don't want a heavily damaged car etc etc or is it totally at their discretion??

For the people asking for other pics, i don't have any at the moment. They were just snapped at the scene by a friend to show the damage, and get a photo of the area and the other car. I'll get some more pics when it's taken to the assessment centre and I pick up some belongings...

I wouldn't think that you had a say in the decision that the insurance co makes.
Maybe you could negotiate a lower value write-off?

From the pics it doesnt look like a write off. Repair for about 8-9K

I would ensure that it was written off...
