yeah but what car was it though? that would make a big difference to the repair bill wouldn't it?

here's an interesting question: how badly do cars really perform in a 2nd accident in the same area? how would an insurance company or car manufacturer assess this sort of thing?

also, to continue this guessing game, can anyone here tell me if this is a write off? if yes, structural or economical?

^^^I would say that will definitely buf right out for under $100

Back on topic - Was there any damage to the engine/gearbox anything else machanical? that could cause the price to skyrocket quickly. The chassis will never be right again and the car will never feel the same again, also you have lost alot of value on the resale of the car - I wonder if that can be taken into account in the damages claim?(I doubt it - but It should be)

The 323 will definately not be written off, we have repaired cars 10 times worse and the have come out perfect, drove exactly the same. Mind you we did have one BJ 323 hit in the rear, repair bill was 14k and alot worse then yours, car was insured for 20k. All was about to be repaired but the owner went to court with NRMA demanding it be written off, he won and got a new car.

But from the pics, it'll be fixed im guessing it'll be around the 10k mark.

AAMI will get one of their dodgy 'repairers' to 'fix' it for sure If you let them.

Depends on parts prices and availability...

There is probably 10-12K worth I expect..

If the accident is the fault of the other party then it will be there insurance companies call whether it is fixed or not as they will be paying. providibg they were insured. This is how I understand it from my experience working with and for panel beaters.

There should also be no problem fixing it, especially as the bags weren't deployed.

Imo if your insured for $24k that will be repaired - thats always the danger in having too much cover .

Yep, I reckon it'll be repaired.

Some chode smashed in my sisters feroza while I was driving @ 60kmh, did this damage. It's currently being repaired.

The bumped was pushed back onto the LH tyre, radiator pushed back into the engine, bash plate under the engine bent, "nudge bar" absolutely owned, instruments all f@cked inside, air con smashed etc etc

The quote was for just over $4k, not including a new nudge bar, fixing the aircon, and a few other items, on a car which isnt worth that much at all.

Cant wait til the d!ckhead who hit me gets the bill - 3rd party insurance coulda saved him thousands of dollars. Ahh well. Sucker.

When you get it back, tell them you don't trust the car anymore and you want it crash tested for peace of mind.....
