bearing in mind though, the biggest speeding fine i've ever recieved is 10kays over the limit (100 and 1 point), up until now i've had a fairly clean record!

i said RELATIVLEY, as in, no lost licenses, 1 speeding fine which was only 1 point. The other one was for excessive noise (exhaust) and talking on my mobile. So i'd say thats a relatively respectable record.

That nearly made me piss myself laughing. Not the point you made. Just the spelling.

I immediately read it as heresy, which is alot funnier than hearsay.

they have to explain when they pull you over that they followed you for x amount of km and kept a certain distance behind you to approximate your speed .They CANNOT say you were doing x speed and were pulling away from them what were they in? a niki police car giving chase? they have modified cars , unless your car is capable of sub 13 second quarter times there is no way you can get away from them. Take it to court , get defence ( it may cost a bit ) but then if the same cop pulls you over again you can go for harassment ( only if he loses the court case , then he is seen as holding a grudge)

i have been booked with no radar , they followed me and booked me for an AVERAGE speed , not what my top speed was , as it wasnt a constant speed ( they said i got to 110 , but my average was 90 , this was in a 70 zone )

BUT if you really doing the speed they estimated you at , then you could well be boned , you dont know if they recoreded their travels , or if they actually did call it in.. all that is recorded at the radio centre

                BULLSHIT!

That is complete and utter trash. They have mostly XR8's and Commodore SS's, with the odd XR6, and then the basic Commodore Executive/ Falcon XT's. Let me guess, you're the sort that perpetuated the myth of the "cop chip"?

Mostly the reason they catch people in faster cars is because those people have no idea how to drive a car fast, and are panicked anyway. Cops do have some training you know...

They were not in visual range for 90% of the time so i dont know how they could average out my speed. I think a lawyer is going to be the only way to really suss this out

I'm having trouble with the concept of "not in visual range" and "not doing more than 85 km/h".

Did they have to stop for doughnuts?

Only bother fighting it if it means you'll lose your licence otherwise. If you do chose to fight it, get a solicitor.

                          Ask yourself these questions:
Can you prove you were doing the speed you said? If you go to court and tell the magistrate "I wasn't doing 110, I was only doing 85" you'll still be fined for speeding.

if i only got done for 85, i'd still keep my license.

So three cars went past you, the car behind you didn't have visuals on you 90% of the time (90% of what time ..the time you were speeding?) it sounds like you were caught and yet again (like every month here) you're trying to get out of it. To be honest Perth has enough shit drivers I think I'd rather direct you to www.transperth.com than www.getyouoffthisticket.com. have a nice day
