Australian Road RulesOriginally posted by Secoha cop can be in a pursuit without having lights and sirens on, it's not a requiremnent for them to do so unless they are going to encounter other vehicles. (AFAIK)
Part 19 Exemptions
305 Exemption for drivers of police vehicles
(1) A provision of the Australian Road Rules does not apply to the
driver of a police vehicle if:
(a) in the circumstances:
(i) the driver is taking reasonable care;
and
(ii) it is reasonable that the provision should not apply;
and
(b) if the vehicle is a motor vehicle that is moving, the vehicle is displaying a blue or red flashing light or sounding an alarm.
(2) Subrule (1) (b) does not apply to the driver if, in the circumstances, it is reasonable:
(a) not to display the light or sound the alarm;
or
(b) for the vehicle not to be fitted or equipped with a blue or red flashing light or an alarm.
(just for clarification)

---> i wonder what they classify as reasonable cause not to display the light or sound the alarm. Surely double the speed limit would require these

Dude you were speeding, you were caught ... just fucking live with it, pleade you need the car for work and get with the 1 point for 12months.
Its not like you were INNOCENTLY driving along, and some FUCKING PIG COPPER with nothing but jam on his shirt thought, ....
"I am bored, lets pull over this driver whom is not doing anything wrong, and fine him... Yes today is a good day to lie, to risk my job and be a total prick"
The only way I could see the above happening is if he was a HW Patrol Officer, they are born cunts and will die a cunt.... but Normal coppers are human and I have never seen one go out of his way to get more paper work by fining some (now ovious) wanker out of the blue.
This is whats wrong with the Australian people these days, they no longer accept they did wrong and bitch and moan about it and call there lawyers.
Again, I have said it before, you did the crime, do the fucking time.... and shut up about it and stop looking for little ways out of it... its not like you are the first person to stand up in court and go "I didnt do it sir, the Police man is lieing"

why plead guilty cocksmoker when you can get off? Why take a fine on account of being a decent human being? Fuck you, and fuck paying fines. Whack your orange frock on and go bang your cymbals in the city.
Welcome to the 21st century, if you dont follow protocol and try to nab someone your gonna get taken to court. Simple fix, USE THE RADAR GUN. I cant stand whiney fuckheads like you, go on Ricki Lake and have a cry there.

at least you said something funnyOriginally posted by TRIALWhack your orange frock on and go bang your cymbals in the city.
personally i think you should just cop the fine, considering by the sounds of it you didn't get done for the speed you were truly doing - be happy with that imo.
alternatively if you take it to court, admit to doing wrong but the quoted speed being incorrect and how adversly it affects your way of life, blah blah, maybe you'll keep your license for a while yet. be a good boy, talk nice to the magistrate, dress nicely. you could seek legal assistance i guess, but i personally can't see it being worth while financially unless you're loaded.
in the time you'll be suspended you could clean lots of stuff up on your car and maybe some mods, save lots of money on petrol and get fit by riding a pushbike

At best you may get hit with a low range offense and therefore you can keep you license?
I find it hard to believe that you or anyone can mistake 85km/h for 140km/h! If you were adamant you were just a little over, stick to this.
I personally think it's the cop who's just had a hard day and decided to fuck someone over.Originally posted by boxxx

If ya looking at me, I ya got no idea, I am not crying, I am laughing at yet another "OH man the cops suck" thread .... its like watching a pigeon getting shot, you have no hope ... deal with it.
Take him to court dude, but make sure your the one who comes back here and tells (Whinge) to us how you got a tough judge from hell and got a double sentence and we will see who will be wearing the skirt and banging ya cymbals for ya mate bubba in cell block D.
But in the end, it affects me less than how many boob jobs chippers mum has had, and in the end, it will come down to my now famous line, Do the Crime, do the time!
and I still stand by the line of "Eat Shit"
