Look i dont know wether you have misinterpreted my original post but at no stage have i had a go at any police officers in this entire thread? I was merely asking what my legal stance was, so i could HOPEFULLY avoid losing my license. You just wanted to have a go from your first post, which is fine, thats your opinion, cool. I just have a problem with people who continually bitch and moan whenever someone does something wrong. Yes i was speeding, mistake, fine, im trying to minimize the damage it does, i dont care about the fine, i just dont want a lost license on my record.

With regard to your legal stance.. you have none. The eastern state laws are locked up pretty tight and they change it the second someone busts open a loop hole.
Legal fee's are likely to cost you more then it would cost to take 12
(or how ever long you will lose your licence for) months off work and walk around the streets.

first mistake was admitting ANY liabilty.
If a cop pulls you over and asks you what speed you were doing, it's the speed limit. No matter what he says.
Don't argue but don't accept the fine unless they tell you how they recorded it. Then ask them to show you the recording. If they can.. then you go down.
If they can't/won't then get on the mobile right away and call the cops.
If you call in and tell the chick on the line you suspect your being pulled over by someone pretending to be a cop they will have someone out asap.
If the guy pulling you over is a real cop, well then all of a sudden he's going to have some one watching what he's doing. This will make it harder for him to rape you (but not impossible)

I have been pulled over and had my speed questioned.. the answer is always "speed limit"
