Trial, you are obviously a newbie. You must take this matter to court.
Rock up in your scungiest jeans and tell the Judge that you are really sorry.

Don't forget to tell him that you have a lot of remorse and that it wasn't really your fault that the other car you hit was being driven by a legally licensed person who was obeying all of the road rules whilst travelling on the same street as you were when you crashed into it. Remind him that it would be unfair of him to hold you responsible for the behaviour of your two drunk mates, even if you were drunk and they punched the lights out of some innocent bystanders who saw you crash into athe nother car, before you all tried to do a bunko and flee from the scene of the accident.

Don't forget to tell him that your mum is really upset with you and that you dad is pretty angry, and you think you've learnt your lesson. Tell him that your mum and dad just want to move on from this and start their life a new, without this painfull memory coming back to haunt them. Offer to take a 2 year good behaviour bond and a six month susension of your license for committing such a heynas crime. If that fails, you still have a few options ...

Option 1 ... pucker up, bend over and take it like a Man as Gav suggested...
Option 2 ... Tell him that you dad is a cop!
Option 3 ... Tell him that a precedent has been set <link>

Besides, everyone knows that this should really be a family matter

Don't argue but don't accept the fine unless they tell you how they recorded it. Then ask them to show you the recording. If they can.. then you go down.
If they can't/won't then get on the mobile right away and call the cops.
If you call in and tell the chick on the line you suspect your being pulled over by someone pretending to be a cop they will have someone out asap.
If the guy pulling you over is a real cop, well then all of a sudden he's going to have some one watching what he's doing. This will make it harder for him to rape you (but not impossible)

I have been pulled over and had my speed questioned.. the answer is always "speed limit"
      Have you actually tried this.........

In answer to the original question. If you are relying on A or B, forget it.

Get a proper traffic lawyer to fight it, but it'll cost you $2K.

Judging by what you've told me, he HAS no evidence and the 140km/h figure was the max speed he reached in order to reach you. Go to court, ask for his video evidence and it'll be dismissed, HOWEVER, you admitted to 15k's over so be prepared to cop that on the chin.

          aha this thread is awesome- that's a line and a half;
And the mspaint by wobbly was top notch-- surely we can all contribute further and perhaps make this pool room material :worship:

if your mum is out giving the almighty canary each night you might have just had a bit of karma come back your way though mate

I did the one full year on 1 point with my car having over 350 ponies at the fly, so i guess you're gonna have to bite the bullet :knock:

EDIT: btw as for fighting it and winning, as someone said get a good traffic solicitor; a mate of mine in brisbane got pulled over after they witnessed him doing 160km/h he deserved to lose his license, but surely got off none the less
Nothing to see here, move along...

No no no. The big question is will the magistrate give a flying f*ck about what the cop was doing....

a mate of mine on a bike has got off 2 times on a FOLLOW SPEED fine. He wrote a letter to the police, complained of the officers attitude ( he isnt allowed to say BULLSHIT ) and that there was no way he was doing the accused speed.

got a letter back saying sorry, and the fine was revoked.

Cops never used to be allowed to do anymore than 40kmh over the limit.... have the rules changed? I doubt it, thats why u got pinned for 110 in a 70 zone..... 70+40=110... i got pulled over doing 180+ in a 100 zone about 12 years ago, i thought the cop was doin me a favor when he put the ticket down to 140..... bullshit.... he was covering his own ass.

I would have given u the benefit of the doubt, untill i saw you were in a VS clubby...... instant guilt when it comes to driving foolishly

that wasn't an exact transcript of my conversation, i actually said

"i have no idea, when i looked at my speedo, it was 85, then i went back to watching the road"

or something along those lines anyway.

i would suggest trying the 'hate crime' defense.
