Paul, tell me how the Navara goes?

Possibly my next contract is to Malaysia in few months time, the next job requires drive yourself . They are asking me what car do I want...construction site visits so I'm tossing up between a Hilux, Frontier SUT (Navara) or New Triton (if released by then)...but I told my boss as long as it's not the same as his car :D. He's over there now and has had his pickup stolen 3 times in 3 weeks, the company is not happy to buy a new pickup every week.

My VP Commodore ute goes up in value every day ....when I finally sell it I will be able to retire and live on a large yacht with the proceeds

It also costs bugger all in running costs and drives ok (ish) for a 14 year old car with 268,000 on it.

Troy-- smart money in all the tests I've read is Navara over hilux... better on road- refinement, handling, features vs cost, although the 'lux td is slightly quicker in a straight line and perhaps a touch better offroad...Petrol id go Nav. everytime.. 198 kw 4 litre can't be wrong. I've driven an auto petrol and it had plenty of punch!..

I'll tell you more hopefully next week.. car is landed and at the dealer now, but won't be ready for tomorrow ..

New Triton will be interesting I think, but based on the past I can't see it coming close to either the 'lux or the Nav. ..

200- I'm at Cremorne... I'll undercut Fattie too... though fatties is probably prettier, mine drinks less.. Give me til next week sometime and I'll take some photo's for you- we're away this weekend..

Paul, thanks I look forward to hearing more.
The guys also recommend either Hilux or Navara too for good off road work and weekend 4x4 abuse. They've shown me some awesome photos of remote 4x4 trails, river crossing, how to get bogged and flip a Pajero :D...

Navara drinks like a sieve in petrol form, but not a drama with a fuel card though, apart from that good think.

Yep, I was rather impressed. Felt almost petrol like from the passenger seat. Ohh and uses approximately half the fuel on the petrol.

A gas powered falcon just got voted the cheapest car to run in australia - cheaper than a prius to run that is, and they still have plenty of torque, power and creature comforts. The only reason you would get anything else would be for either image or to go 4WD'ing.
