The thing is that I don't think hybrids are good for the environment. I think it is a sham.

The amount of really yucky stuff and energy required to make the batteries (which only last 3 years) is huge. Much more than just using a small fuel efficient car.

Although you do get to pick where you want the pollution to a certain extent that way.

AFAIK the bulk of what goes into the batteries is really uneconomical to recycle, so it is just dumped.

Battery technology isn't going anywhere in the next couple of years.

The company I work for scoured the world for the best batteries available to power one of our products that sucks a heap of juice.

We changed suppliers a few times and ended up with all this protype technology that is 3 years away from regular release, that isn't much better than today's batteries.

Weren't the 100% electric cars just to satisfy Cailfornia's legislation to have a zero emision car available from each supplier and supplied at huge losses?

I would imagine the gay arse american CAFE system is still in operation.

Mileages are given as a company wide average.

So you need a few green huggy Jazz type cars to balance out your Z06 and Escalades.
