Need a helping hand from the UK...

    Hey guys,

Story goes like this. I have a Peugeot 206 GTi, and require some parts for it, and the local dealers are charging very silly prices for the stuff.

Now after a quick potter around ebay.co.uk/google.co.uk I have found all the bits I need and more, at very cheap prices (I guess because the car is local), so what i'm after a big favour from someone there (or with trustworthy contacts there) is to assist me in getting the parts over here to Melbourne somehow.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks,
    Dino.
    (p.s I have British passport, will travel! :D )

      Alex

Doesn't matter if they are second hand/used or new for me.
This largest or 2nd largest part in will be the radiator I believe?
      I'm after :

Electric drivers side mirror assembly complete
Radiator & Plastic rad fan/housing complete
      Fuel cap
GTI 180 rear spoiler (probably will be the longest item in length)

Also some other bits and pieces, but all are small items, nothing will be longer in length than the rear window spoiler, and nothing longer or wider than the radiator.

Weight? Unsure of the final weight?

When do you need them - ASAP?

Freight WILL be a killer cost.

            *Mr Burns voice* "Stumbles eh?"

C, yeah pretty much as soon as we can get 'em boxed and sent over the better really?

Freight will be pricey, but nothing compared to the markup the b*stards are making here off the same parts I can assure you.

if you are buying from commercial sources you could ge them to post them "ems" type arrangement or sea freight.

Obviously your not trying very hard.

When I bought my parts from the UK I requested that they be boxed and ready to go. I organised for the shipping agent to get them picked up and delivered to the wharf and shipped from there.

I had over 100kg of parts and paid for 1sqm of shipping space.

Every single place in the UK I have emailed, won't ship to Australia

When you say shipping agent, do you have any links to the one you used? How did you go about it?

I've been buying stuff for the race car from the UK recently. Parts have been shipped with UPS and take less than a week to arrive. However, the shipping cost on a set of 4 AVO shocks was $200.

To get a second price on Pug parts, call A Cullen & Son in Nambour, Qld.

                      Cal.

Cost me under $500 AUD to have an engine (VW ABF 2.0L) picked up by a courier (90km out of london), put on a ship (London-> Brisbane), customs / freight forwarding upon arrival in Australia & delivered to my garage door.

I have yet to receive it, but only extra cost will be if customs pulls it aside for further fumigation.

Yes I did a lot of shopping around... (Could have even got it flown here in 3 days for $300 AUD more)

                          Details? Has anyone got details?
I can find places with the bits I need on ebay.co.uk etc, but no one to send them here for me? Maybe they are just lazy!
