i.e. will it be similar to the QR sprints in that there are only a limited number of (5 or 6?) cars on the track at one time, no overtaking in corners etc?
I'd like to express my interest. Depends on who is running it, if there are officials or ambo's etc on site, it's it properly run or someone taking a pair of bolt cutters to the main gate?
When will we know if we can run or not? I'll have to talk to my boss soon after we know.

Rolin - you can come if you've been suspended that's fine but it's not our responsibility if you get done driving to or from the venue
I teach for Total Driver and we are running the day. There will be driver training and hot laps but that is seperate from the sprints. The sprints will be run in groups of 5 to 6 cars at a time, 30 seconds apart (including cool down lap). You will be running in groups of similar cars/driving ability to avoid catching the person in front.
It's definitely on, you will be able to run if you take the day off. As I say, it's just been a last minute thing that I found out people could come for sprints so I'm just letting the people on this forum know because - with the odd exception - this one isn't full of dickheads.
It will be run properly. I can't be sure because to be honest I thought it was just going to be driver training, but usually when we run sprints there are ambos and officials.
Any more questions just post here, I'll probably be back on tomorrow and I'll be on wednesday to give details of booking and payment. If you miss out this time don't worry there'll be more opportunities soon but not at this price with what looks to be a small group.

If it is part of a driver training day, how much time will we actually get for our sprint event? To be honest, I have no interesting in participating in the training day, only the sprint event.
So has any one inspected the track surface , i was under the impression Grass was making its way throught the track surface ? Btw the sounds like Fun

The photos only give a general view of a few sections, but it seems to be in reasonable condition. However, walking/driving along the track will be the only way to know with any certainty.

I can confirm(I was there that day, and the only female running the sprints)thanks to IanS from BMW Club Qld......Lakeside has lost none of it's fun:D , we had to modify our lines a little, owing to one most particularly slipery patch in the eastern loop......and the fact that we needed to keep off any of these patches to keep tyre noise down.
Overall the track is quite good, of course there is plenty of grass growing in the cracks in concrete and bitumen in the pits and support areas, the track is not much different than the last time I ran there years ago. The Patches are the same ones Lakeside had back then only they appear to have been re-coated with a thin black layer which made things very slippery.
