might work well in a ricer-looking mirage since that way you could disguise the upgraded wheel/tyre package & well sorted suspension.
or go for the stocker look, either way is good.

SleepyBeetle is the go. EJ20 Turbo has to be the engine of choice.
There are quite a few around already. Prolly a lot cheaper than building a powerful VW engine too.

Ralliart in Germany (I think it was them) produced a concept car for Mitsubishi at a German Auto Show that was a standard Mirage with Evo engine and running gear transplanted into it. It was called the Colt SR4-X, from memory.

That's kind of what I was think. P Gumley used to not warm his scv up at all. First fire would be on the start line before the burnout. Not 100% practical in a streeter :D
