there are some top ideas there. pick something that's a common sight on the roads & not popular. plus you wouldn't want something on the heavy side. weird citerons et al wouldn't fit into this category.
all depends on your budget of course. can't really add anything fresh myself but here's what i'd go for:
- Hyundai Excel or series 1 S-coupe with 4G63 VR4 engine (and maybe AWD if it's easy enough, otherwise leave as FWD)
- as above but in 80's magna (just pick a shell with no rust)
- 3S-GTE into late 80's camry wagon
- something decent into an 80's volvo would be the go if your wanting RWD
- other RWD options would be a mid-80's corona or the good 'ol sigma
that red magna wagon with the VR4 motor FTW. even i'm interested!! :D

fiat regatta wagon with fiat coupe 16v engine (its a solid starting point and will have fairly similar dimensions to the regatta engine so it will only be an incredible inconvenience, not a major headfuck)...
seriosuly, who here has EVER looked at a fiat regatta and thought "i reckon that thing is pretty rapid"?Originally posted by myshortyboombaI've had many gauges in cars. I always found the conrods react faster than a gauge.
you can always hear them when they break and they stop the engine immediately so you can't do any more damage.

actually i just found out he's after 10K ono for it.Originally posted by Steve_1that red magna wagon with the VR4 motor FTW. even i'm interested!! :D
i know of people who couldn't fetch 7-8K for VR4 cordias with similar outputs & had to part 'em out, so i think he's dreaming just a tad. 'tis a very nice car all the same though.

Not me, some some lost cause for a human being has 3 in his front yard down the road.Originally posted by Fraudwho here has EVER looked at a fiat regatta....
Possibly the most disgusting car ever designed by a once-reputable marque._________________________________

Alfa made some really rubbish cars back then and the Russians were stupid enough to license the designs.
I'd try one of those very ugly '82 celicas. Like the Supra's very retarded younger cousin.Originally posted by boxxx

Agreed, but I can't recall even the Russians being stupid enough to acquire a licence for any Alfa from their bad period, let alone a 105 etc. I think you are confusing an Alfa 90 or something with a Fiat 124.Originally posted by T0nyGTStAlfa made some really rubbish cars back then and the Russians were stupid enough to license the designs.
The first Supras were simply Celica's with a longer nice to fit a straight six. Same basic chassis-so increased engine power apart not much difference. Those Celicas weren't the best thing going from that period but I would rather take my chances in one of those than ANY 80's Alfa/Fiat:rotflol:Originally posted by T0nyGTStI'd try one of those very ugly '82 celicas. 16v head is expensive, I have one and have sold 3 so I know. The very late regatta's such as this ebay one have the last version of the 8v TC and are very very storng. The head has the best combustion chambers and was the same head as the 8v integrale's. It is a very short stroke engine that will rev very hard (8.5k no problem) on std rods...a turbo would go very well on it. THe driveline is very similar to the delta 1600 ie turbo's...even a wold 3d is a big advancement over the original EMS.I don't care a damn for your loyalty when you think I am right; when I really want it most is when you think I am wrong.
