problem is 14" performance tyres cost more than 15 or 16" ones these days. (at a guess).

Yeah prefer the watanabes, they look so damn good on a classic'ish looking sports car like the mx5, but the buddyclub p1's ain't a bad choice either!

CXT, what tyres did you opt for?

I reckon they look great. The old watanabe's were nice, and prolly a set of deep dish watanabes may have looked better, but I'd take the P1's.

Yeah I have 15inch tyres and they were certainly cheaper than larger versions of the Bridgestone GIII I have on but my brother has 14inch (watanabes) and you pretty much had to get a set of tyres imported if you wanted real performance (havent checked lately) so had to settle for a set of 60 profile Falkens.

Paint is missing from when my cousin drove the car through someones fence

Watanbes (well.. really they're Black Racing, pretty much just as light, just a different brand) haven't gone anywhere, they're sitting in the spare bathroom, they'd be great if they were in a lower offset. But with 4x100 rims it can be a tad hard to find anything with an offset under 30 secondhand. I bought the Buddy Club's first but never got tyres for them, then found the watanabes at a wrecker while getting parts to fix what my cousin had done, and just put the tyres from the standard rims on them. I had real Watanabes on my DR30 but wanted a slightly more modern jap look for the mx5

Yoko A539's in 195/50/15 on 15x7 +17 P1's. bought the tyres secondhand (but still with at least 70% tread). Were originally on my cousins Gemini (that grouping of words still sounds amusing to me) but that rolled after the right rear rolled off the rim, all the good bits (new Bilsteins, new adjustable sway bars, new rims with new A539's) were sold to one of our friends who had just bought a Gemi with a Piazza engine but he never fitted any of it to his car, he got bored of his gemini and bought a R33 sedan, and sold the Gemini bits to another of our friends, who has just decided he's never going to get a Gemini so he's selling everything, and I put my hand up for the tyres. Actually, all the secondhand bits I've bought for it have six degrees of seperation type stories behind them... must be Adelaide

I've got a photo for you then if I can find it.

ESM - Theyre aftermarket GSXR1000 mirrors... was a cool idea but after we bought them we discovered the arms are die cast so we were too scared to try and heat them up and bend them in case the arms snapped. If I could make a bend by the base they'd be great, but as is they stick out at weird angles and I cant really get the passenger side one to sit so that I can see out of it properly

That was in 2001 I think. You can see the river down in its original bed, and the old road and the bridge across the river

those shots would've been taken around jan-feb i'd take it?

probably what i should've said also is that the water level is pretty damn (pardon the pun!) low, considering it's august! should really have plenty there from all the winter rain we're supposed to be getting.

Nah, it was actually in April or May! I'd bought a Charade CXT (hence the username) near the end of my first season coaching rowing, so that would have been mid April'ish, and then I didn't take those photos till a while after then, my lecturer for Quaternary Environmental Changes had said something about the reservoir being low so I went to take a look and to take photos of the Charade up there, and I don't think that I'd paid any attention in those lectures till well after the rowing season had finished because I was usually asleep in the back row (work till 11pm the night before, then coaching at the Torrens 6am-7:30, go home, walk into the city, lectures from 9-1 then lunch for an hour, some other lecture, then two hours of QEC from 3-5 and I was fucked by then), so I think it had to be close to winter. And I think he'd only mentioned it because it was odd for it to be so low at that time of year

                              New wheels > old wheels.
I'm not usually a fan of white on white, but yours looks good.
