A mate of mine was at a consumer affairs tribunial trying to get a result out of the guy that didn't do $5k worth of work on his boat.

While he was waiting two guys come bursting out of one of the meeting rooms with a security guard in the middle trying to stop them from killing each other....it was a disgruntled Landrover owner and the senior Landrover warranty guy.

Please buy one (actually buy two so you can use one for parts)
      .

                I like em...

                I would not touch a V8.

                TDi 240,000km regularly serviced.
Clutch left me standing on the side of the road at 200,000.
Other than that it has never missed a beat.
I do not flog the car though.
                Good economy, tows well.

My father has had two, he had trouble with the alarm on the D3 when it was new.
Other than that we have been happy.

Did you forget to hit italics or did you mean that compared to other landrover owners he had a good experience?

See you misunderstood though mate...you want one that runs in rough conditions...not one that runs rough in all conditions

Out on the farm we had Hilux's, Couriers and a Navara...the Navara was best in the mud cos the giant 3LT 4 pot diesel would pull just about from idle in 4th gear...the couriers were the most comfy though

Ahh management... pissing in your shoes and then forming a committee to see why your socks are wet.

I used to detail landcruisers for a tour company. They were all 13 seaters and drove 500- odd km per day.

All had standard landcruiser 4.2L Diesel.

There were some with 900 000 KM on the clock and still were running very nice.

                            Toyota Landcruiser's> whatever

I have rustproofed 3 for the local dealer. brand new. The underbody had as much rust as my 1977 HJ which sat unpainted for three years near the beach.

They clunk like a road ranger on and off the throttle, and clatter like a locomotive. I am positive some people have good experiences with them but I would never let anyone in my family take the (massive) risk.

Landcruisers are nothing special, but they are sure as shit tough, and parts are everywhere.

                                I was being sarcastic.
                                Maybe it wasn't obvious enough.

Maybe next time I should do something like:
                                <sarcasm=11>Yeah Edo thinks they're ace</sarcasm>?
