Planning? Already have one. Well, large extended family. Wife and 2 kids go out a lot with the wifes parents. My in-laws are great people and we get on very well. Most weekends we are usually all travelling somewhere together.Originally posted by muttaburrau planing on a big family cookie???
I don't think they would appreciate travelling on a couch, in a trailer, behind a Jazz and/or CRV. But I'll run it by them and see what happens.

Turns out, far too much has been written about great men and not nearly enough about morons

recently bought a Prado. Seats 5+3 (+3 adults with no legs or 3 kids). We choose the petrol and it's getting 15L/100 around town. From reading, the diesels are around 12L/100 around town. Some of the other new diesels are claiming better ,but with any of them, the price to buy one is quite high. Depends if that's an issue... you can buy a lot of fuel for the price difference between a new diesel and say a 3-4 year old petrol on Gas. Depends also, on if you want to go tripping about too. LPG not much good if you want to go bush-wacking.

Cookie, I get 14l per 100km out of my 100 series V8 landcruiser...it depends a lot more on how you drive it...for example my now ex GF used it for a week & got 22 litres per 100 out of it, but she really cant drive.
Last trip from Melb to Bris I got 1000km out of a 130 litres, thats mostly cruising at 120kph.
