Well, with the Ralliart Magna, the manual version was the one that had quibbles with torque steer (due, IMO, to an improperly matched and underrated LSD that was sourced from an FTO, a much less torquey car), whereas the auto version apparently didn't have any issues with torque steer.

I get the feeling Toyota would be at least capable of controlling 200kW at the front wheels with the appropriate engineering, in comparison to Mitsubishi's parts-bin raid attempt.
    Back in bloody Perth again...

      2GR-FSE in RWD platform FTW.

Not sure which one will bomb worse - 380 or Aurion.

Tony, it's coz none of us PF-ers really give a damn/notice since these cars are not what we'd be seen dead in even if they've driven past them. I've seen a few on the roads. More on the streets than a VE and I'm not talking about the Toyota dealerships. Probably coz I don't give a damn/take much notice of VE's as well...

I see heaps and heaps of VEs on the road and in every combination you can imagine.

I'm not all that interested in the aurion - even if it has an lsd it's only gonna do FWD skidz which is as about as gay as having sex with a man - almost but not quite

It'd be interesting either way.. time will tell how well it sells or doesn't sell as a segment in total

I have. The look like they have penis tumors, given all the bulges in the wrong places. I can't see one reason why someone would buy one. I think Holden must be laughing given the lack of decent competition at the moment (at least in the looks department).

our transport manager drove a six speed falcon back from qld and coud'nt get it under 10.7 ,my vy comm does the same trip at 8.9 with 53000km on the clock not 7000km like the falcon.

Thats probably why, The VY is well run in, the 6speed Falcon wouldnt have been completely.

I seen an Aurion the other day.

The badges were taped over, and the rego sticker was half covered up so people wouldn't easily know what type of car it was, but I knw it was something 'interesting', so I asked the guy driving it, he wasn't secretive about it.

                      That is all.

I don't see the big deal. It's just a V6 Camry. Toyota have always sold a fair few V6 Camries. I can't see why that market won't purchase the Aurion.

FWIW I've seen new Camries (more than VEs actually!), the rear is a little odd but overall looks pretty good to me. Then again I reckon the AU is the best looking Falcon ever made so meh!

Jesus. I didn't know blind people were allowed to drive? Does your dog steer and you work the pedals with your white stick?

FWIW We had a line-up of the new camrys at work a few weeks ago to be tested as replacing current 6cyl Falcon vehicles. I don't think they look too bad, much much better than the old one (esp interior).

Lol - looks like they are going to try again.

Seriously the only way they stand a chance is to make such an outstanding RWD car that peeople take notice. Look at the AU falcon - it was generaly a good car and RWD - but it was a total failure sales wise. When they came out with the BA they instead made a car that looked great and was "world class" featuring the best technology from around the world including the DOHC dual variable... "M3 heads", jag suspension, quad cam V8 version, GT40 (every GT-R/Supra owners wet dream turbo ect). Then later on they added in the 6speed auto usualy found in euro cars costing over $200K.

The VE commo now has a similar world class range with ESP ect. Of course Holden have their marketing genius HSV/HRT program that accounts for a brand image that allows them to sell cars if they are good bad or indiferent.

The 380 is another example - good car but it needed to be amazing.
Same for the Magna's, they had the ralliart and AWD versions but really botched the whole thing since they didn't offer the manual g/box with AWD and ralliart. In otherwords if people could buy an "EVO Manga" for the same price as a SS or XRT6 they might have considered it if it was quick enough.
