Sweet. Good to see someone else who can actually comprehend the handling and braking.
Tossing up whether to buy a nice road car or just get another kart - neither is cheap.

*In the 6 or 7 runs we did, Harry had a problem with his car on one of them so got slowest time + 5 seconds, or he would have beaten me.

From what I know, if you two were put in the same car, he'd beat you.
Well, at least that's honest. That's the single best post in this entire thread!

Worth mentioning that neither of your cars were accustomed to the surface either. Mine, on the other hand, was but you both beat me (due largely to me spending most of the day doing circlework where I shouldn't have been). Awesome little event though.

Anyway Bill, we're all missing you over at the other place. Brad's back in force, now we're just missing Billzilla and at least no-one gets banned for stirring up the mods/admins over there :rotflol:

I really love how all the talkers weigh in behind the "cool kid" and pick on the dissenting voice. Ahh, the joy of pack mentality.

After reading these seven pages the only conclusion I can draw is that there are a couple of people who do a bit of hobby motorsport and a whole swag who talk about it. Of the "couple of people", two of them have some history that NONE of the others here know about nor understand... but they are quick to chuck their two cents worth in.

Hey Bill, I had to chuckle to myself when I found this. I remembered you were building a bastard KE55 that was never likely to do a rally due to the rules. Well, Schedule R is your friend! Class RRR allows for road registered Frankensteins so when are you going to bring it out to the forests?

This thread started about RZ's Supra, which is a street car which happens to get punted around a circuit occasionally - and for what it is, it's incredibly quick. So where does all this talk of motorsport come into it? And why should we be any less impressed by what RZ has done just because proper race cars are quicker around a circuit?

I'm still amazed at the sound of that thing! And harnessing that level of power around a circuit in a street driven car!

Good luck with getting into the 56 second range Pete (not that 57 seconds isn't freak'n quick already :D )- morevideosofRZsupraorban!

                        Thats about it Toy-boy

Might add that quite a few 'racing cars' get owned by street cars at the sprints, bit of a rude surprise for some of them :p And while I'm in the mood, a good well driven but not necessarily big dollar Silvia will beat most, including all but the best big dollar GTR's.

All this talk of motorsport come into it when Harry questioned Bill, not the Supra person Bill and Harry go back quite a few years.

BTW: Harry's GT-R is also a street car that gets punted around a circuit occasionally (and rallies and autocrosses and Mt Cotton and Bathurst) and it's times were recorded on street tyres... cheapie Federals, at that :rotflol:

Anyway, it's all fun and games... Internet forums are like that, aren't they

Oh my god, are you a racing car driver?

That's awesome. I merely talk about it but I have never been on a circuit.

Thanks for showing us all the error of our ways.

Hi Marco, long time no see!
The rally car is still happening, but it's not at the top of the list of projects so not a lot has been done other than to keep gathering parts for it.
I finally got a hold of the Ford Sierra 4WD gearbox and steering rack, after a lot of stuffing around .....
The V-6 Suzuki is also sittng here and should be an absolute screamer.
