qr sprints are on next weekend , i reckon all the players in here should come out for a bash.
doesnt matter what car you bring (theres no requirments other than roadworthy) just need a helmet and sleeves.
you will need your entrys in now though as its getting a bit popular.
failing that theres a wednesday event on the 15 nov , much quieter.

Do they have the general practise days anymore? Or are these sprints some sort of competition?
I remember just turning up and testing for an am or pm session, doing as many laps as we wanted to.

I just dont see myself driving to brissy to drive round Austs worst circuit...you driving to Melb to do the best sounds much smarter

My car is still in the workshop after my warm up lap at the last WAS. Perhaps next year I'll actually get out to see your car run and drive mine further than onto the back of a trailer or tow truck!

                28th of October- morning practice.
                18th of November- morning practice.

Practice is on the national circuit and normally interesting due to the diversity of cars there (last one I went to late 2005 had an aussie race car, a few porsches and an F3- having the F3 scream past whilst I was already braking for turn 3 was really cool :D ) They still need to have more practice days though- they seem to be held only before big events or top gear meets. Weekly practice days would be great.... I might actually get out there once a year then.

Pfft, shows how much you know. Our drinks come from vending machines, as do our hot meals and t-shirts.

That's awesome. I merely talk about it but I have never been on a circuit.

Thanks for showing us all the error of our ways.

Muz (One day I hope I am like Marc Zande)
Are you ok there? Taken your tablets today?

Where the fsck did you get that whacky inference from? Where did I say that I am some racing hero? The way I read my post (and I apologise for using english as my method of communication), I was having a laugh at myself for being beaten at a khanacross in my rally car by two circuit racers in their low road/circuit cars.

Now Muz, get off to that remedial english class then come back and read the post again :knock:

Indeed it has been a long time Bill. I've left Brisbane and am now a country bumpkin, The Stanza is no more (ask Harry about that - http://www.dairally.net/rip_stanza/DSCF3031.JPG ) and the thing in the avatar is the new toy. However, toys are rarely played with as there are now 22 month and a three month old distraction at home. Hopefully 2007 will be my "comeback" year and I'll get to have a bit of fun in the forests again. I've only done one rally in the last two years and haven't been on any tarmac for, umm, maybe five years!!!

Finding you here prompted me to check your site so I'm as up to date as the average punter on the KE55. What's the story with the Starlet?

Anyway, I see you have a fan club here so I'd better watch my P's and Q's :rotflol:

The rally car is still happening, but it's not at the top of the list of projects so not a lot has been done other than to keep gathering parts for it.
I finally got a hold of the Ford Sierra 4WD gearbox and steering rack, after a lot of stuffing around .....
The V-6 Suzuki is also sittng here and should be an absolute screamer.

Know the feeling. Got all these toys and don't seem to be able to get to play with them enough.

AFAIK it's the only RWD Starlet in Aus, though I've heard rumours of maybe another one or two. It's getting a ~240hp 4AFE, close-ratio gearbox, etc. Should be pretty quick.
