Its not about breaking the speed limit. No-one here has said they have never done that. 140 in a 60 around a bend, in a residential area, on cold_semi_slick_tyres, with passengers etc etc......is more than just breaking the speed limit. I think that is the arguement.

the arguement isnt about speeding, its under the conditions that it happened and the potential harm he caused to innocent parties.

I can see why I have given you that opinion, but its not the case, thats why I mentioned the guy was being a tool.

I think he is a tool because of the conditions and circumstances surrounding the "incident" as you call it. (ie, I agree with you).

What I dont agree with you with, is that the people calling for jail time because of "speeding" or any other reason related to this incident are total cockheads, at least as retarded as this guy.

Ok some of you can honestly say that you've never done 140km/h in a 60 zone, but can you honestly say you've never done anything a bit silly, got away with it and thought my actions could have potentially caused an accident?

Forget jail time or whatever - the majority on here were not calling for him to be thrown in jail (I know one or two were) but that he should not be getting so much "oh bad luck man accidents happen" and "oh anyone could have an accident". For fucks sake the guy was going over twice the posted limit with 3 passengers in a high powered car (which by the posts he had not owned long so probably was not 100% familiar with) and on cold tyres on a public road in god knows what condition - if you think that deserves our sympathy then you're fucking kidding yourself - no ifs buts or maybe's.

He deserves a farking big fine and to lose his licence for an extended period and hopefully there won't be a next time for this bloke at least!

But in this case it was pretty dumb imho. If he had been on a more appropriate road a fuck up wouldn't have ended up risking his and his passenger's lives so much.

Moral of the story: There is a time and a place for everything. Think twice before doing wild shit to show off to people. Pick a place where there is room to recover from an understeer or a big spin.
